The “Gâteau des rois”: A Delicious Occitanie Tradition

In Occitanie, Epiphany is celebrated with a sweet treat full of flavor and tradition: the
Gâteau des rois, a brioche scented with orange blossom. 🌸✨

This golden crown-shaped brioche is beautifully adorned with colorful candied fruits and sprinkled with pearl sugar. A true delight that brings joy to every bite! 😍

A Taste of History: More than just a dessert, the Gâteau des rois represents sharing and the rich cultural heritage of the region. Hidden inside is a fève (a small figurine) to crown the king or queen of the day.

🍰 Country Kids' Famous Hazelnut Cake – A Chef’s Specialty! 🍫

Our beloved **Hazelnut Chocolate Cake** is a true treat and a guest favourite during tea time at Country Kids. Perfect for cosy afternoons or special family moments.

Now, it’s your turn to bake this favourite at home! 🥰

Here’s the recipe to recreate the magic at home:

✨ 150g sugar
✨ 150g flour
✨ 75g butter
✨ 100g hazelnut powder
✨ 3 eggs
✨ 1 bar of praline chocolate
✨ 1 packet of baking powder

**Instructions:**
1️⃣ Preheat your oven to **165°C (329°F)**.
2️⃣ Mix all the ingredients, leaving the praline chocolate *for the very end*. 🍫
3️⃣ Pour the mixture into a baking tin and bake it for 45 minutes.
4️⃣ Let it cool, then share and enjoy this heartwarming dessert!
