We had a great lunch at Momola in the 9th this week!

You can order their lunch menu which is great value for what you get - starter and main for €15 - which is featured in the third photo. I ordered off the menu, choosing the Tibetan roll and Tenthuk soup.

They also have a homemade spicy sauce plus homemade beverages - hibiscus lemonade and iced tea.

It's a lovely spot with wonderful staff. If you have specific food requirements, they have plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans.

A week ago, I was cleaning up on New Year's Day after having friends over the night before. It was my last party of the holiday season.

This year, December was an awkward month due to a dear friend no longer in this world.

Although I was not my usual 'Christmas Queen', I was very fortunate to have close friends by my side.

Let us never take for granted the days we have on this earth and the people who are dear to us. Be thankful for what we have and appreciate the people in your life that matter.

Effective now, there are new single-fare ticket prices for all travellers and TWO different tickets. If you make a transfer from the RER to the bus, for example, you need two tickets:

• Metro-Train-RER Ticket: A trip costs €2.50 and is valid for 120 minutes provided you are not using it for a back-and-forth trip. It allows you to travel by metro, Transilien train, and RER throughout Île-de-France (CDG and Orly airports cost an additional €13).
• Bus-Tram Ticket: A trip costs €2 and is valid for 90 minutes provided you are not using it for a back-and-forth trip. It allows you to travel by bus and tram (excluding tramway lines T11, T12, and T13) in all zones (CDG and Orly airports cost an additional €13).

With the Bonjour RATP app, you can load them onto a Navigo Easy card (see below) or store tickets directly on your iPhone or Android phone. https://www.ratp.fr/apps/bonjour-ratp

Navigo Easy is a rechargeable card that costs €2.00 from any ticket agent. You can load tickets onto it using the metro station machines or via the RATP app. The card can be given or lent to someone else, but each person travelling must have their own card on them.

Navigo Jour is a pass for unlimited travel on one calendar day in all zones 1-5. It’s useful for trips outside of Paris such as Versailles and Fontainebleau. The cost for this daily pass is €12.00

Navigo Semaine (weekly pass): €31.60 for all zones valid from Saturday at midnight until the following Sunday at 23:59. A Navigo Mois (monthly pass) is also available for €88.80.

Paris Visite provides unlimited travel by bus, metro, tram, RER, Transilien and airports in all zones: 1 day €29.90, 2 days €44.45, 3 days €62.30, 5 days €76.15. Reduced rates for children under 10.

Navigo Liberté+ is for residents only and requires a bank account accepting SEPA payments. The fares are €1.99 and €1.60 apart from airports which is an additional €13.

If you are in Paris for New Year's Eve, there will be a fireworks display tomorrow at midnight for 10 minutes, lighting up the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysées.

From 19h, there will be live performances, DJ sets, karaoke, circus artists. Around 23h, expect video light projections on the Arc de Triomphe with an Olympic-Paralympic theme.

Public transport will be free from 17h, however, some stations will be closed due to the festivities so check the RATP before heading out.

I've meant to check out the restaurant Double since they opened and finally had the chance last week. This small, 12-seat spot in the 18th with Chef Tsuyoshi Yamakawa combines Italian cuisine with Japanese influences.

We didn't see the time pass for the two hours we were there and I loved everything! A list of the dishes is in the last photo (apart from the last - I forgot!). I will return!!

There's a set menu with eight courses and there are two seatings. Reservations are essential.

Today is the day Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris reopens. Five giant screens will be set up outside (hopefully not cancelled due to the weather).

In anticipation of the reopening of Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, motorised traffic will not be permitted on December 3 from 14h on the high quays of the Left Bank (red areas) unless you live in the red zone (proof of address required). This ban will be lifted on December 9 at 12h. There will also be occasional disruption of traffic on December 7 & 8 along the quays (yellow area).

All shops on the Île de la Cité will be closed on December 7 & 8, including all péniches. On the high quays on the Left Bank, shops close at 15h on Saturday & terraces are prohibited. The bouquinistes will be closed from Wednesday evening.

Metros Saint-Michel & Cité will be closed all day Saturday until Sunday at 20h. The RER B will not stop at Saint-Michel. For the RER C, traffic will be stopped between Paris Austerlitz and Musée d'Orsay stations from 12h-22h on Saturday with a return to normal on Sunday. Buses will not circulate within the security perimeter on Saturday and Sunday, and from Wednesday on the left bank. Check the RATP for the latest information.
