The cottage has been totally renovated and has every comfort while still retaining its character and many original features. Offering “upside down living” the first floor is open plan, with dining, kitchen and lounge areas. Double doors lead onto a large veranda that overlooks the garden and surrounding countryside. The living area has a wood burner, comfortable sofa and easy chairs, flat screen TV with freeview, dvd & cd player along with a selection of books, board games, cds & dvds. The kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge, fan assisted oven with hob, grill, microwave along with a full selection of crockery, cutlery, pans, ovenware & utensils. The dining area has a table and chairs that comfortably seat four. On the veranda you will find a dining table with chairs, sun loungers, parasol and gas barbecue. Downstairs are two bedrooms, a good sized double and a twin with full size beds. Both bedrooms have ample storage space with drawers and hanging areas. The shower room has a power shower, vanity unit, toilet and heated towel rail. A washing machine is located under the stairs. Electric convection heaters are installed throughout for use in the cooler months. Included in your rental price is all cleaning, linen, towels and electricity. Located on the borders of 3 other departments the house is ideally situated for sightseeing and visiting the many local tourist attractions in the Indre, Creuse & Allier. Montlucon, Chateauroux & Bourges are the nearest cities with many other delightful towns round about. La Chatre with its connections to Georges Sand and Chopin, Aubusson famous for its tapestries and nearby chateaux in Boussac and Culan are all well worth a visit. Locally there is something for everyone: rambling (the GR41 past the front gate) wine tasting at the Roman town of Chateaumeillant, water sports, swimming, canoeing, sailing and fishing at Sidailles, golf and motor racing at La Chatre and archaeological sites throughout the region. The nearest town, Preveranges has a bar with restaurant, a brasserie, boulangerie and 2 general stores.
