Easter Holidays - Looking to entertain the children?

Group up with a couple of families and a gang of children and take possession of Le Prieure, a 14th century fortified house with a medieval tower.
(And more importantly, a great playroom with a fantastic dressing up box, hundreds of children's books, toys and games to entertain young travellers).

Once you've acquainted them with the market on Sunday in our neighbouring village, bought the cheese, oysters, and croissants and pano's hot from the oven, take your pick from the many things to entertain them and you in the area. And, if you really want to be spoiled, you can come home to fantastic meals cooked for you and the children, games in the garden and hot chocolate and marshmallows to toast on the medieval inspired firepit.

With Puy du Fou (arguably the best day out your children (and you!) will ever have) just over an hour away - www.puydufou.com - Check out the Viking Show and the show in the full sized Roman arena, but keep it as a surprise for the kids. They will be blown away with what they see! You will see upwards of 7 incredible shows in one day!

Discover food and adventure in Niort. Visit the Indoor Market for fantastic local produce and the grand Donjon for a medieval experience!

Explore the canals and see the wildlife on the beautiful waterways of the Marais Poitevin.

Or take the kids back a few thousand years at the Tumulus de Bougon where they can explore the 70m long tumului, see what their ancient ancestors wore and ate and the great longhouse they lived in. Add in the restaurant and museum and it's a great afternoon out!

Buy oysters at the market on Sunday in our local village, Thenezay, to drink with delicious local crement (less than 7 euros a bottle!).

Explore our local chateau with a private guide - stunningly beautiful in a riverside setting. You can pic-nic on the banks of the river afterwards! Allow us to prepare a stunning pic-nic for you. In fact, we can cater any meals you would like with our fantastic chef who used to work on the Royal Yacht and at Admiralty House.
