Here's Tom, Sal & Joe fishing the Lodge lake. They've been coming to us since 2005.
Sal has been fishing for 6 hours a day while Tom & Joe fish for 8 hours a day, fishing from 10am till 4pm and then Tom & Joe from 6.30pm till 8.30pm.
They've had 64 fish so far....
Tom caught a stunning 51 lb common that clearly didn't want to pose for any photos as it shot off as soon as Tom got in the lake with it 😆
They've got a couple more days left so let's see how many more they can add to their total.....Well done guys. 🎣🎣

Funny cos Sam and Family who was on last week had 35 carp most of them in the night and nothing over thirty, odd....But that's why we call it Fishing not catching .......Fishing is not easy that's for sure !

Dave and Jason are at the Lodge this week on their 14 year , and I'm sitting having a chat with them, they both need to pop back to the house one after the other, and yes you guessed it the rod goes off down by the island, oh no I've got to hit it, it's on, I try to give the rod to the two of them, no its yours Gary we can't touch it now 🤣🤣🤣 33lb first fish I've caught at the Lodge in 24 years !!!!the boys have had 25 carp and a few straightened hooks by cats !!!

Well we know it's been raining quite alot like 9 months here with just probably 12 days of no rain 🌧 but yesterday we had 90mm of rain in one day at the Lodge but not at the Cabin in June. You just can't make it up don't ask me how's the fishing been thou 🤣🤣🤣

Last week, Gerry, Jimmy & Jock weathered the bad weather at the Cabin Lake and still managed to catch 15 fish.
They caught 2 forties at 44 lb and 41 lb, both Mirrors along with 4 Thirties, 6 Twenties and 3 Doubles...A great achievement considering the torrential, cold driving rain and huge storms we had !

We are trying to dry out but the sky still looks threatening !!

Well done Gerry, Jimmy & Jock, see you next year and please bring better weather with you next time 🤣

Well the weather has been atrocious last week and this totally killed the fishing, John and Kevin on the Lodge this week and on there 17th year finding it very hard with the cold rain and hail stones which is stopping the fish from feeding probably hasn't stopped raining for 9 months now what is going on !!! 🤔🤔

Cold wet weather and a drop in pressure didn't help the first few days of fishing for the 70 bottles of red boys at the Lodge lake. But yesterday the fish got on the feed and the boys caught 7 fish including; 41lb 8oz, 37lb, 32lb, 32lb, 31lb, 27lb and the new lake record a stunning 60lb 2oz Common...

Here's Jakey catching this 60lb 2oz Common a wonderful fish, it was last caught at 58lb this time last year.....

What's your opinion on a solid shelter made in wood probably ? lights, charging points etc, a bit like in the picture but no decking and only at the Lodge at the moment?????

Amazing week! Over 1200lb of fish! All baits were bait boated. Single boille, pellet & feed mix made into balls, one around lead & two extra put in every time. Back leads used.
Our 3rd year here so we're getting to know the lake, but cannot stress enough, listen to Gary. He knows best.
Cannot thank him enough, his hospitality, chat, food & tips. Next year can't come soon enough!

SEASON 2024 BEGINS.....

Regulars Sean and Phil (A.K.A: Bolton boys) arrived at the Cabin yesterday...
They've had a great start catching 5 fish Saturday afternoon. The biggest carp weighed 30lb7oz and the stunning orange koi weighed in at 17lb. We'll keep you posted of their progress as the week goes on......

We have a couple of weeks left available at the Cabin Lake in May, one at the start of September and a few early October. Please get in touch if you're interested.
