We had a fab time here, house and grounds are really nice, sitting in the hot tub overlooking the lake was our daily medicine!

We only fished the house lake and house swim, just one angler, had 25 runs landing 23 fish. 1x small cat, the sturgeon twice at 29lb, 8 carp between 23 and 29lb, 11 carp over 30lb to 36lb 8oz and 1 over 40lb, a lovely common at 46lb 9oz, my new PB.

All fish were in immaculate condition, Mostly commons for me but did have 4 lovely mirrors. Fished most mornings , evenings and nights rested the swims during the afternoon as we ventured out to various villages and towns. Fab time and will be back next year!

A few of our favourite photos from last week, as promised.

As already discussed, we all had an exceptional week!

The accommodation is brilliant, and had everything we needed, sitting in the hot tub waiting for a bite definitely takes some beating.

Having 3 lakes to explore and the added bonus of the cat cabin was a great touch, we all enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area.

The fishing was fantastic, we finished with 40 plus fish, breaking 5 PB’s in the process!

a number of carp, mainly mid to upper 30’s with 4 over 40lb All the fish were in great condition, and some stunning carp too.

You really have created a piece of paradise!

George along with his partner, 4 children and George's Parents all came to EMV last week. this is George and his families 2nd trip, but the first for his parents.

George being an accomplished Cat angler spent most of his time up on the cat lake:

"Thank you for another great week the family and I had a really great time, we broke the week up and went to Disney for the day.

Fishing, I spent my time at the cat lake only doing 4 evenings 6pm-11pm and I managed a day up there also.

I had 14 cats in total 118, 123, 121, 101, 103, 105, 115, 100 , 88, 86, 98, 90 ,70,60 and 2 sturgeon biggest 44lb
I had a short go on the house lake and managed a 32common and the sturgeon from there also. "

Not a bad week then, family time for grandparents as well. days out and still lots of fish,

Neil and Helen returned for another trip to EMV bringing friends Rob and his partner.

with EMV having 2 ensuite rooms at opposite sides of the house there is sufficient privacy. plus the cat lake cabin offers another sleeping space 300m from the main house.

Rob recently had to have surgery so wasn't up for too much fishing, but still had a dabble and a well needed rest.

Rob wrote:

"Hi Billy, we're on our way home now. We've had a fantastic week so thanks once again for having such a lovely venue.

I didn't fish much, probably around 24 hrs in total but managed a few.

Rob fished all week but again, not hard as we had days out etc.

We love the changes you've made, cat hoist was awesome. Barrows were very handy too.

The Norris boys returned for their 5th visit 2 weeks back, as usual they all had a great trip with the three lakes on offer allowing them to spread out.

carp in the main house lake a little harder to catch than normal as post spawning, but still a few nice fish out.

The cat lake was the main target this year, cats to 121lbs and the upgrades to the cat cabin and lake were noticed and well received.

lots of cats coming out this year and really good weights being had.

Already booked for next year and 2026.

Michael woods and his brothers first trip to EMV 25th of June 2024.

First trip to Etang Maison Verre and it did not disappoint. Everything was extremely well managed from booking, online communications, directions and arrival instructions.

The house, lakes and grounds are kept in excellent condition and so quiet and peaceful. Two days in and having had carp on the main lake to 37lb they decided to spawn and had no interest in baits whatsoever. It was that time of year and not totally unexpected.

We then fished the catfish lake where we had carp to 15lb, however the cats were the star attraction. We fished late afternoons until midnight and had cats ranging from 31lb to 103lb and Sturgeon to 55lb. The facilities at the cat lake are second to none and match everything that the main house has to offer. Needless to say we’ve already booked for next year

18th -25th of May Martin Sharpe and friends

4 expert cat anglers, rotated 2 anglers on the house lake and cat lake to mix it up.

Cats to 116lbs, Sturgeon from the cat lake and carp to 33lbs from the house lake
many cats caught from the cat lake and great time had by all.

Martin wrote the following in a few messages. :

4-11th of May, Jamie and Chris's third visit to EMV.

Hiya Billy just a follow up on last week.

Fishing was a bit slow at the house I think we totaled 10 fish between us with the biggest being a 40lb Mirror which unfortunately I didn't set my camera correctly to take a picture, that was my PB too!

I also had a grass carp which wasn't weighed. I did go to the cat lake which was a lot more productive and I spent roughly 24 hrs there with about 12 hrs fishing, catch report from the cat lake - 3 Cats 85/75/45lb and caught both Sturgeons I had the same one twice so you could call it 6 fish in 12hrs..... excellent!

I lost a few cats to the weeds so that figure could have been nearer 10 fish, I'd definitely say that the lake is fishing really well at the moment, there's so much life in there it's an absolute gem

The cat lake lodge is perfect I could comfortably stay 3 or 4 nights up there, in all honesty I didn't use the internet because I was stuck into the fishing but if you were to stay there for a few nights it would be invaluable for sure.

I mean to be fair if it wasn't fishing there's the big TV, BBQ, kitchen, toilet and the Starlink it's brilliant mate. It's also got the proximity to the lake it's probably the same as the house but it feels a lot closer like you're on the swim when you are in and around the cabin which is nice.
