Cycling, Walking, Skiing, Visiting Northern Spain or just Relaxing with stunning 180 degree views of the Pyrenees Mountains, Pyrenees View is the place for you.
Cyclists can ride some of the best Tour de France routes or into Spain and back from the front door without even having to drive! For the less experienced cyclist there are some fantastic bike trails and the roads are very quiet. Saint Gaudens is a regular on the routes of the Tour de France and the Tour D’Occitanie.
Hikers can climb some stunning mountains with lots of differing routes depending on what you like.
If you want to ski we have 2 great ski resorts, Superbagneres and Le Mourtis, within a 45 minute drive.
We have a secure indoor storage area for bikes, skis etc and can help with routes and even a bit of bike maintenance! Unlike many other gites in the area parking, for cars or motorbikes, is free and onsite.
For those looking for a more relaxing holiday our large wooded garden is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery and nature. You have your own outdoor eating area and a BBQ as well as our stunning 12x6m swimming pool which is open from April to October.
Our weather is lovely. We have long hot summers and mild winters but the ski resorts get a lot of snow so great if you want to mix activities.
Although we are in a very quiet and calm area with amazing views we are very close to our local town, Saint Gaudens, a 4 minute drive or a 35 minute walk, where you will find supermarkets, shops and a great weekly market as well as the usual hospital, doctors, dentists etc. The area is well known for its local fetes and music events, a lot of which are free.
There are regular daily flights from all over the world to the nearby airports of Toulouse and Tarbes, both about a one hour drive and with the A64 a few minutes from the gite you can easily travel to a lot of our local places of interest such as Lourdes, Carcassonne etc and don’t forget lunch in Spain! There is a train station in Saint Gaudens so getting here without a car is also easy. For those bringing bikes we can arrange a collection service from the airport, a charge applies.
We opened in June 2023 and offer a lovely, bright and airy 1st floor self-contained apartment in our converted barn which can accommodate up to three people. It has its own entrance and is over 50m2 with ceilings over 3m high. A mix of old and new the gite has been converted to a high standard.
