In contrast to its more publicised counterparts the Limousin region in central France is delightfully underpopulated. In other words it's perfect for a fun, luxury, authentically immersive, French country holiday adventure with no crowds or queues. All of our programmes from art and writing to cooking and lifestyle are suitable for novice enthusiasts and more experienced participants. We’re all ab

out creating the perfect context for you to unfurl your inner artist, writer, painter or chef. In addition, you'll get to wander through medieval castles and ramparts and centuries old gardens. You'll also get to see up close the famous tapestries of Aubusson and shop for antique furniture, linens and lampshades at country markets and brocantes. You can also recreate and conjure some of your own in hands-on cooking demonstrations back at the la Creuzette summer kitchen. Our double ensuite bedrooms has gorgeous natural light and sweeping views of the estate gardens. Each bedroom in the beautifully restored manor house is exquisitely decorated with Aubusson tapestries or cartons and the beds are made up with embroidered antique French linen. Our luxury bed and breakfast option includes accommodation and a daily served French breakfast buffet. Wifi internet is available throughout the main house and property.

We visit magical places of interest in the verdant countryside during the day, and in the evenings Amanda Strydom and Coenraad Rall will enchant us with their magical performances, each evening a different musical program. Bastille Day will be celebrated with a seductive dinner feast in the shimmering park. Champagne will be flowing, the music will entice you, and the summer celebrations will be in abundance. The first of our Food Tours to France was a huge success! So much so that FOMO has driven a few of you to book your room for 2025 already!

We will be back here from 1 to 6 June 2025 for more Lebanese cooking and exploring the beautiful French countryside.

There are only 8 double rooms, and 3 are already taken. If you wish to book your room for a week of spoiling, comment 'FRANCE 2025' below, and I will make contact as soon as I've unpacked in Cape Town - we get back tomorrow.

17 to 22 June 2025

June is the most wonderful time to be in the French Countryside. Summer has kicked off, the gardens are in full bloom, and the days start getting longer. The park at La Creuzette is in its full glory. During the week we enjoy exciting excursions to wonderful places of interest. In the evenings we dine festively and enjoy classical music concerts by Jean Du Plessis and his pianist, Sonja Van Zyl. On the 21st June we celebrate the Fête de La Musique with a jazz concert in the garden of La Creuzette.

Angel Vargas Tovar is our hardworking and dedicated gardener, as well as an all-rounder from handyman and builder to chauffeur. Since he joined the team three years ago the park has thrived into an immaculately maintained garden. Angel has his caring hand permanently on the garden and he has honed his skills in various aspects of horticulture, from planting and pruning and maintaining our lush, vibrant park. He takes the time to understand the unique needs and the overall vision for the garden, ensuring that every corner of our outdoor space is thoughtfully cared for. Additionally he also tends to any reparations and renovations to the interiors and exteriors. Nothing is ever too much trouble for his always-willing-to-help personality.
