Tree of the week goes to the Judas Tree, which is now in full bloom. To be fair we have a lot of splendid trees here in the grounds of Maison Guillaume Blanc, but this one is my favourite….. well at this time of the year anyhow!

In case you missed Petit Guillaume’s appearance on Channel 5’s Holiday Homes in the Sun back in September, we’re delighted to hear that the series is being re-run at the more popular 6pm slot so more people can watch it!! Petit Guillaume features on episode 7 tomorrow night starting at 6pm. The Old Goat House has already appeared in episode 3 on Tuesday night. However, all episodes can be streamed on My5. Tune in if you can! 📺👍

I thoroughly enjoyed a spot of early Christmas shopping and having a go on the potters’ wheel a few weeks back at the open day at . Under potter Jo’s supervision I managed to make a half decent-looking small bowl! Thank you Jo for this unexpected and fun experience and for glazing and firing my little pot afterwards - I love it! We’re super excited to share that Maison Guillaume Blanc will feature in the new Channel 5 show, Holiday Homes in the Sun, which starts this week. Tim & I are not seen on screen ( thankfully!!) but we think two of our properties will be featured after the crew from Raise the Roof Productions spent two days filming here back in May. There’s a lightly competitive element to the show as the presenters compete to champion the best property. We’ve no idea what they’ve said on camera, so wish us luck!! We hoping whoever said « there’s no such thing as bad publicity » was right!!!

Today was a great day to visit the Arcachon basin and walk along the promenade. We had bright blue skies and sunshine all day and enjoyed a fabulous lunch al fresco overlooking the beach! Not a bad way to start the week! ☀️🕶🌊🐟

T’was a chilly start to the day on Saturday so Sybil sported her ‘Dogasaurus Rex’ pullover to the local Recyclerie. She put many smiles on peoples’ faces and despite being wrongly identified as a ‘petit dragon’ by a minority, she very much enjoyed all the attention 🐉 🦕😂

Every Sunday we climb the steep chemin tord behind Maison Guillaume Blanc with Sybil’s best friend Katinka and enjoy the views across the vineyards. Today the landscape was transformed by a beautiful haw frost and eery fog 🥶.

Guess what we’ve been doing today at Maison Guillaume Blanc? Yep, a Saturday painting party in the old Chai. This ancient 20 metre long stone outbuilding was formerly used to store wine…. and a lot of it!! It will soon be transformed into two holiday residences in time to welcome our first guests in Summer 22. Watch this space for further developments.
