Overview: Your hosts are Paul and Lara Smith and we invite you to come and stay at La Roussille. The purchase of La Roussille was made on a cold winter’s day in December 2013. It was the start of our dream, and a big day in our future lives. It was now time to plan the large project of converting what was an old drafty barn into two luxury gites. We wanted these to be somewhere that we would want to stay. We didn’t want to just deliver two gites that would do the job, we wanted to offer accommodation that people would really appreciate and that we would be proud of. We hope that we have achieved that and that you decide to come and stay at La Roussille. We are sure that it will meet all your needs and expectations, and delivers memories that you will take with you forever.
Surroundings & Activities: We are set in the beautiful Perigord Vert area of France famous for good wines and cuisine. The surrounding area is scattered with stunning chateaux, historic buildings and medieval villages with breathtaking green countryside. The numerous rivers and lakes make it a perfect place for water activities including canoeing, kayaking & waterboarding. If shopping is your thing, then you will love the brocantes and vide greniers that take place all through the summer months. These are very much like boot sales we get in the UK but the items on sale are of a better quality and sometimes you can find an antique or two. They are a big event here in France and last the whole day with plenty of food and drink on offer and the occasional band too.
Accommodation: La Roussille is home to 3 properties, a converted farmhouse which we call home, and 2 large recently renovated luxury holiday cottages ( gites ) which are fully equipped and furnished to a very high standard. All our rooms are individually designed for comfort with a hint of something special.
OAK BARN: Sleeps 6 with 3 bathrooms (2 of which are en-suite), large living area and kitchen with all modern amenities including smart TV and free wi-fi; and
