🇫🇷J'aime ce petit coin de notre domaine. Je pense il a un calme et une lumière qui est très particuliar. Et à ce moment de l'année, quand les tulipiers fleurisent, le bruit des abeilles récoltent le pollen est merveille à entendre. Où se trouver votre lieu préférez?
🇬🇧I love this corner of our Domaine, it has a very special calmness and light. And, at this time of year, when the tulip trees are flowering the sound of the bees collecting the pollen is wonderful to hear. Where is your favourite place?

Thank goodness spring can't be stopped by a lockdown! There's nothing quite like a riot of colour to lift the spirits in these challenging times. After the tulips will come the gladioli and hopefully the bougainvillea will continue to thrive and flower in this sunny spot - it's a bit of an experiment as we are further north than it's normal habitat!

Heureusement, le printemps ne peut pas être arrêté par ces restrictions sur les déplacements ! Il n'y a rien de tel qu'une émeute de couleurs pour remonter le moral en ces temps difficiles. Après les tulipes viendront les glaïeuls et, avec un peu de chance, les bougainvilliers continueront à prospérer et à fleurir dans cet endroit ensoleillé - nous sommes plus au nord que leur habitat normal, nous verrons !

La Belle Auberge serve delicious regional cuisine prepared from local ingredients with a choice of à la carte or set menus - the 4-course Menu du Jour is excellent value at only 15€ which means that a reservation is highly recommended!

After your meal why not take a gentle stroll along the 'voie vert', the old railway line, to the iron bridge across the Gave d'Oloron, built by none other than M. Eiffel!

[+ de régalade !] La réputation nous précède lorsque l'on parle de la Belle Auberge ! 😋 Avec leurs plats gourmands et généreux, leur carte traditionnelle et locale, leur terrasse très agréable par beau temps, le village de Castagnède, sa voie verte et son pont qui permettent de belles balades digestives. Tous les ingrédients sont réunis pour un bon moment ! 🤩 Vous n'avez plus qu'à tester (ou retester 😉)

We love what we do here at Domaine Lavie but receiving comments like these, left in the guest books by this weekend's departing guests staying in Orchard and Park cottages, makes it all even more worthwhile. 😄
