Terrible news. Argentierre was a great place to visit for some exceptional, high altitude skiing from November right up until early May.

Ce mardi 11 septembre 2018, un incendie a éclaté en début d'après-midi au niveau de la gare intermédiaire du téléphérique des Grands Montets, à Chamonix. Les dégâts sont très importants. Des hélicoptères ont été utilisés pour éteindre les flammes.

If you haven't tried mountain biking in Samoens, I suggest you give it a go. It is technical and steep with lots of rocks and roots to keep you entertained.
