Last week, I had the pleasure of guiding this group of skillful leaders to the Refuge de Chavan for an inspiring 24-hour Mountain Bathing adventure.

Off the beaten track, we embraced the silence, shared meaningful conversations, disconnected from our phones, and reconnected with nature, each other, and ourselves.

Another magical Mountain Bathing experience and a perfect opportunity to (learn to) pause, focus, and breathe.

The cliffhanger…

Would you dare to sleep here?

When we arrived at basecamp, one of us was looking for a hammock in the trees, while another expected the tipi to be set up again. But then we noticed some ropes hanging down the cliff…

After a delicious fondue, expertly organized by our friends from , we harnessed up and got ready for bed.

Steve said, “I’ve never dreaded going to bed this much before.” But he, along with the rest of us, went for it. The beginning was a bit nerve-wracking and definitely out of our comfort zones. But I have to say, my sleep was surprisingly decent.

The next morning, we woke up to the first light setting Mont Blanc on fire, followed by a lovely breakfast.

A big thanks to .ski and for 2 exciting and well organised and secured days 🙏

After a pretty zen and mindful day yesterday, day 3 was a completely different experience. We left our warm and cozy mountain hut, began with a breathing session led by .en.balans, and then met up with our guides, Philippe and Jon.

These two mountain goats were in charge of leading us through their backyard for the rest of the day. We kicked things off with a via cordata, zipped across a river, and scrambled up a steep chamois trail that followed a ridgeline with stunning views of Mont Blanc.

The whole group was buzzing with excitement about the climb and eager to see what our next camp would look like. And what we encountered blew all our minds (mine included)!

At a clearing in the forest, right on the edge of a cliff, Jon had set up our next camp. The fire was already crackling, the aperitif was laid out on a handcrafted table, and everything seemed perfect, except for one thing ….

We couldn’t spot our beds ?! 🤔

On day 2 of our Bucket Project, we set out from our tipi basecamp and made our way to a manned mountain refuge.

The weather had improved, offering breathtaking views, and along the way, we encountered more mountain goats than people. We took our time, enjoying the relaxed pace, engaging in great conversations, and carving out moments for individual reflection.

With no idea where we’d be staying that night, the Bucket team was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at a cozy mountain hut, where a warm fire, a cold beer, and a delicious dinner were waiting for us.

Wow, this years Bucket Project has been a blast again! Let me try to capture our adventure in words and images, starting with the first 24 hours of our journey:

We set off on Thursday, geared up with our heavy backpacks and excitement for the journey ahead. After an adventurous hike through mist and rain, we arrived at a secluded mountain plateau at 1800 meters. Apart from a few ibex, there wasn’t a soul in sight, and the thick fog left us completely unaware of our surroundings—not to mention the elusive view of Mont Blanc.

Thankfully, a friendly sherpa had dropped off the tipi tent where we’d spend the night, and to my delight, we all fit inside comfortably! After a tasty lasagna we were all ready for a sleep, a bit confused (or overwhelmed?) by what this first day and evening had brought us …

The next morning looked much better already; clear skies, giving us the chance to soak in the stunning view. The breakfast, a hot cup of coffee and a mindful sunrise session got us ready for the next episode of our adventure …

Yesterday, when I went back up to pick up some things at one of our mountain cabins, I took a moment to reflect. The sun was out, and the weather was completely different from the last three days when we were out.

I realized what a great journey it has been once again. Thank you, Kim and Theo from and , for bringing together a group of motivated, resilient, and positive people to the mountains. Over these four days, we faced the elements, walking through rain and snow, and enjoyed a cozy fire even more when we arrived wet and cold at our mountain cabin.

We learned about the seven pillars Blauwprint based this journey on, and we had powerful reflections and great conversations. We shared laughter and tears, we talked and embraced the silence, and above all, we reconnected with nature, with each other, and with ourselves.

The mountains were calling, and you guys chose to go. And that was the best thing you could do!
Thanks for coming and for your trust in my cooking, hosting, guiding, and coaching skills 🙏

The next chapter of our Mountain Bathing journeys will take place from Nov 21-24.

November. A month many consider dreary, as winter draws near. But isn’t that the perfect time to break away from routine and reconnect with nature?

Imagine quiet mountains, their slopes still green or brown, or perhaps lightly touched by the first snowfall. An adventure awaits, as long as we’re open to the outdoors and ready for whatever the elements bring.

If the cold reaches us, we’ll light a fire to keep warm.
If the sun shines, we’ll pause and take it all in.
If the rain comes, we’ll turn it into a reason to sing or dance.
And when challenges arise, we’ll help each other find our way.

In just one day, I’ve already found a wonderful group of people ready for this journey—Dutch, English, and German. I’m curious if there are any Frenchies keen to join?

If this sounds like your kind of adventure, let us know and join us on this journey to unplug and reconnect.

A Friss bike adventure in the French and Swiss Alps; what’s in the name ….

We love to craft memories and create adventures, but this one was a little unplanned and turned into an even bigger adventure thanks to the early snow fall!

Adventure starts where the plan ends 🤙

Thanks for your confidence, flexibility and comprehension around me droppping out with my broken finger. And Thanks again to collegues Ben and Fred from for replacing me. And thanks chef Jess for the food and juggling all the balls behind the scenes!

Lessons learned:
Make sure you’re replacable
Prepare for the unexpected
Stay resiliant
Keep confident

With a heavy heart and a broken and operated pinky, I had to let a colleague replace me in guiding these guys on their 3 days bike trip. And look at what they faced on their way up to the mountain hut, right at the border of Switzerland!

Enjoy guys and thanks Ben & Fred for helping out!

; help Linda to the finish?! 💪

One of those amazing huts where we stayed last week and what an amazing and warm welcome we got from the team!

the Refuge is managed by volunteers. All the proceeds are destined to support missionary projects of the Operazione Mato Grosso in Perù, Bolivia, Brasil and Ecuador. The team is changing all the time over the summer and you can feel their passion for this place and the mission behind it.

So thanks again you beautiful people, giving us such a WARM welcome at your Rifugio, and grazie mille for your help with the lost car key!

Today (or t’row) my good friend LINDA is passing the hut on her amazing challenge to accomplish le Tour des Geants, running 330km non stop through the mountains (!!!) Please do me a favour team Frasatti and give her all your love and support you have, to help her getting over the col to finish in Courmayeur ?!

Grazie mille and hope to see you next summer 👍

What a week it has been!!!

We left the Rhône Valley to ride around ‘Les Combins’, linking up with a stage of the Tour du Mont Blanc and eventually made our way back down, ticking off Verbier.

The scenery was breathtaking (as were some of the climbs), the trails were exciting, the weather was mostly fine except for a wet day 5, the rifugios and hotels were great, and the food all around was amazing.

And what about the group? Well, this might have been the 7th bike adventure we’ve done together, and we might have outdone ourselves once again. Thumbs up to rookie Anthony, who had never (!) ridden in the Alps before and absolutely nailed it on these techy trails 💪

Thanks a lot guys, for trusting my adventure planning and guiding skills. And thanks, Maarten, for taking over when I had to ride down to the hospital on day 3.

I’m curious where next year will take us …
Let us know if you have any suggestions?

Nothing wrong with a combination of mountainbiking and via ferrata 😆

Yesterdays day 3 of our Tour des Combins didn’t go entirely as planned. After 20 minutes of riding down the Col du St. Bernard, I had a silly fall and ended up with my pinky caught between two rocks; broken!

Maarten stepped in as the second guide while I made my way to Aosta hospital. A few hours later, I rejoined our bike adventure, just in time for the arrival of two latecomers, Remko and Anthony who just arrived from Holland. The trail in the map seemed gone, but off the beaten track we found our way up, to meet up with the rest of the crew at the wonderful .

A memorable day it was 👍

I’ve made a few adjustments for clarity and flow. Let me know if you’d like further tweaks!
