Robuchon Institute relaunched: "Unexpected announcement"
The Institut Robuchon project officially relaunched, hopes are again allowed for Montmorillon. The mayor is preparing to accompany him.
Joël Robuchon at the Maison Dieu in June 2016. His daughter and the chef Régis Marcon recently came there, in secret.
It's an unexpected announcement. I did not believe it anymore. Now we have to cross our fingers so that they succeed and that it goes to the end, it is so important for the city. The reaction of this Montmorillonnais illustrates the hopes revived yesterday by the announcement of Sophie Robuchon in our columns: the daughter of Joel Robuchon, whose word is extremely rare in the media, confirmed her intention to continue the project of his father, with the support of Jean-Pierre Raffarin and Michelin-starred chef Régis Marcon
"There are steps to go"
"There are still steps to be taken before the final decision but it is of course very good news," said Mayor Ernest Colin yesterday. Soon enough now, we will strengthen the relationship with the team working on the project.
Nothing is yet concretely committed says the mayor: "We do not have precise requests to date. We will soon propose to the city council to set up a link and a team to prepare the city, know their expectations and their needs, as well as the site selected for the reception of students and trainees. It is a private project but it will need to be accompanied. "
The construction site, then the opening of the school, will involve "public space developments" around the Maison Dieu. The water supply network has already been reinforced in this perspective two years ago, when the pipes were renewed. But the renovations of the roads have been left pending pending the start of construction and the expected passage of many trucks and other heavy equipment. The building permit issued in May 2017 for the rehabilitation of the Maison Dieu remains valid for three years.
Local authorities should also be involved in the project through the Saint-Laurent chapel. This church (desacralized) integrated into all the buildings of the House God, remarkable for its murals, was originally to host the gastronomic restaurant application. This reconversion had aroused some criticism and Joel Robuchon had finally given it up, destining the building for ceremonies, receptions and exhibitions. It is therefore envisaged that the ownership of the chapel will pass to the city or the community of communes, which would ensure the renovation.
Le projet d'Institut Robuchon officiellement relancé, les espoirs sont de nouveau permis pour Montmorillon. La mairie se prépare à l'accompa
