Only 1 hour away from our gites at L'Ancienne Distillerie in Segonzac, enjoy a sunny day out at the beach!
Morning at La Coubre lighthouse climbing 300 steps to the top with a superb view on the Côte Sauvage
Lunch at St Palais-sur-Mer, a discreet seaside resorts with beautiful Belle Epoque villas, followed by a walk along the old customs officers' coastline path to Platin beach to explore rock pools, caves and stone bridges.

The Marathon du Cognac is back on 11th November!
Whether you run the full 42km, half or only 10km, this race is a fantastic event where runners will not only go through beautiful vineyards, quaint villages and even Cognac distilleries.. but also will enjoy a few 'gastro' pit stops along the way with local sausages and pâtés! And, of course, there will be an 'apéritif' on the finish line to toast the end of the race! 👟🥇
If you fancy taking part, we still have gîtes available for that weekend. We look forward to welcoming you for a brilliant experience!

Another great day at the seaside ⛱
Before our picnic on the beach, we had a stroll in the Estuary Park with its weird insects sculptures and its 55m watchtower. From the top, the 360 degree view is amazing: the lighthouses of Cordouan and La Coubre, the beaches of Royan and Saint-Georges-de-didonne, the Médoc area... Well worth a visit! 👍

It was a pleasure and a privilege to host the Thunderbird France Classic Car club for their annual weekend away! 12 American Ford Thunderbirds from the 50s and 60s in superb condition... What a treat!
They had a wonderful program too. First day in Cognac : visiting the Royal Château, birthplace of François I king of France and home of the renowned Cognac Otard and then a tour of the famous Cognac house Rémy Martin. Second day at the seaside : visit to the fortified city of Brouage and the beautiful village of Talmont-sur-Gironde.
