Villa Calfour.

Villa Calfour is a luxurious and spacious 4 bed villa, sleeping 8/9.

A private infinity pool sits at the top of the Dropt valley, with 180° panoramic views. South facing with spectacular sunsets in the West.

Set privately in 11 hectares, Villa Calfour provides you with a wildlife experience where many types of deer, wild boar and hares roam free as much of the land around this part of the Dordogne is free of fencing. Birds of prey fly at the level of the garden and orchids are amassed in the fields around us. Much of our land is natural juniper and scotts pine, with our meadows topped provide chemical free food for the local cattle farm in Razac.

The villa is just 2.5 miles from the beautiful bastide town of Eymet with its many and varied restaurants and where the town square is one of the prettiest in the Dordogne. The town and area is well known for its architecture and the town dates from 12th Century. It is said that Calfour is the site of an old Knights Templar tunnel that links Calfour to the church at Montguyard. We are still looking!

Outside, we have a covered decked area for al fresco dining and wicker seating for 8 along with dining, the BBq and the hammock. There are plenty of deep shaded areas in the garden area for when the temperature soars in Summer. There is a sunbed for each guest along with a sunbed cushion.

Complete with 2500 sqft of living accommodation, this villa has plenty of room for 2 families and extended families wishing to holiday together. The original building was a farm hundreds of years ago and it was added onto until it was bought together as a house in the 90’s. We have beams over a foot thick, half metre walls, an ancient working fireplace and the original hand crafted tiles on the floor of the pool room where the footprints of dogs and cats have been imprinted in the clay.

We have a solid slate pool table, complete with an original and ancient wine press as a bar for those who wish to play. The lounge area is large and full of comfortable leather sofas and the TV has English Freeview. The kitchen is fully equipped as this is also our winter home. We give you a Welcome pack of wine, baguettes, cheeses, crisps, pate, butter and milk, along with some tea and coffee to start you off. All you need in the kitchen T towels, scourers, kitchen roll. We try and provide you with all that is necessary so that you can relax first after your travels instead of nipping along to the supermarket; which is 5 minutes away.

All linen is proved, along with bath and pool towels for all. We have an extensive range of baby items, along with 2 cots, highchairs and bouncer baby chairs for very young babies.

The house is cool inside as long as the doors and windows are kept closed during the heat of the day. We rarely use fans, although we do provide them for bedrooms. The cills are deepset and the walls very thick. The villa has been recently renovated to a high standard.
