Spent 5 days last week supporting a group of South Africans cycling around the Pyrenees on a charity event. Change A Life charity. Great fun, very hard work and long days - but a lovely change of scenery.

Tra-la-la. Today, we passed the Gites de France inspection and can now proudly display our panneau. Becoming more French by the day. Some downstream admin to do yet - but I guess that's normal for this part of the world. Congrats to Pam who worked her socks off to get the place looking like a summer gite in the middle of January.

Lack of snow not so good for ski-ing but brilliant excuse for a trip up to the Pic du Midi. Magnificant vista. Thanks to Adam McG whose i-phone 'snap' exclipsed my fancy DSLR photos. Sublime.

Automne equinox. This morning, we said au revoir to our last guests - returning to Canada via Rome. This evening, a wonderful starlit night and even the Milky Way in view. Have to confess I went for a floatabout in the pool and gazed up total relaxation. Bliss.

Look closely and you will see the first snow of the year - just beginning to settle up on the mountains. In parallel, some wierd modern art has arrived at the local lake (which desperately needs some water at the moment) - looks more like Arizona than Hautes Pyrenees.
