French village house for rent - Talloires
Talloires beach all to myself back in the middle of summer. Now, the light is changing, the leaves will soon fall, temperatures will drop and indoor living will become more tempting. Happy autumn!
Holiday rental. Our French Village House - Talloires.
I could capture this bay every day and not grow weary of it. For me, the best time is early morning. I love being out and about almost on my own. It certainly makes the photgraphy easier but it is also special to feel a part of the surroundings - the mountains, the water, the space. Magical.
Our French Village House - Talloires - for holiday rental in summer (think lake, swimming, sun and walking in the mountains) and winter (think snow, skiing, cosy cafés and hearty cheese-and-potato meals). For contact details or more information: www.ourfrenchvillagehouse.com
Early morning on Lake Annecy
"You don't have to do it, Mister."
My husband was getting ready to go for a swim on Sunday in the water off the coast of Sydney. Of course, even though spring has just officially been announced, the sea temperatures are not those of Lake Annecy at the moment. The little boy dipping his toes in the icy water, cautioning my husband about going in, waited then until he had completed his laps.
"Are you an ice block now, Mister?"
"No," my husband reassured him gently, touched by the compassionate tone.

One of the sweet sounds of Annecy
A few gentle notes to mark the end of market day in Annecy.
On the Annecy Lake with Blue Wake
I met Géraldine and Lionel of Blue Wake in the summer of our first year in France. We had moved into one of the mobile homes on the edge of the lake at the campiste La Chapelle Saint Claude in Angon for the last couple of weeks of the school year. It was a magical time that I look back on with enormous fondness, and treasure the friendship that grew from this time. This little clip captures my son's first success at wake surfing with Lionel this summer, but it only captures a glimpse of the happiness of being in the middle of the lake with special people and surrounded by the beauty of the mountains.
Our French Village House for rent
I haven’t quite worked out how to capture a 360 degree without either contorting myself in ways I don’t go or getting very uneven footage. This turned out ok, so a bit of publicity... I’ve just changed the name of our holiday rental Instagram account to @ourfrenchvillagehouse. Hopefully it is far easier to remember and share than what we have used up until now i.e. Our French Village House - Talloires I'll need to change the FB page next...
Our summer rental season has come to an end (with special thanks to the team who make this possible) and it is the perfect time for me to reflect on the season and for our guests to think ahead to future visits. In today’s post on this Instagram account I mention the www.ourfrenchvillagehouse.com website, which I implore our guests to use in order to save themselves the outrageous service fees of the dominant companies such as HomeAway. Hop over and take a look, save for future reference, share or PM me with questions. Merci beaucoup. #bookwithownerdirect #holidayrental #talloires #annecy #france #bookyourholidaydirect
