RUFUS 🤎 🤍

Throwback to when he was a puppy, he still has this little frown on his face and still spends a lot of time sticking his head through here and watching the world go by.

He is the sweetest little dog, but also so very cheeky, he just can’t resist putting something in his mouth. He is getting better at not destroying things, but every now and then he just can’t help himself. 😈 😇 🐶

We are going to open up the swimming pool this week. It’s still pretty chilly, but we want to start doing some cold water dipping in the pool and hot water chilling in the hot tub 🥶 🔥

This photo was taken just before we closed it at the end of November. Perhaps next year we’ll be brave enough to keep it open all winter 😬

Have you ever cooked a soufflé omelette? They are super easy to make, they just take a little longer than a regular one to prepare as you need to whisk the whites separately from the yolks.

They look pretty cool and taste delicious, especially when oozing with Comté cheese!

Fruit Tree Orchards in Winter 🌳 ❄️ Took this photo out of the car window when we were driving to Villeneuve Sur Lot the other day. It was such a lovely light. The sun was trying to come out, the fog was clearing and the hill top villages could be seen just poking out.

We went to Arcachon last month. The weather was 'dramatic', but it stayed dry, we walked for miles on the amazing beaches, we watched the ocean and we ate some really good seafood. 🦐 🦞 🦀 A great mini break and just 2.5 hours drive from us.⁠⁠⁠

The walnut harvest - sorting the walnuts before drying them on racks. Any that are mouldy or have holes in get thrown back out on the land for the animals to eat or squirrel away for over winter 🐿 ⁠⁠⁠

We love BBQ'ing here and we do cook outside all year round, but have to admit it's certainly a bit easier in the summer by the pool ☀️ 😋 ⁠. Can't complain too much though, as it has been lunch in short sleeves for the past few days 😆 ⁠⁠⁠

In the summer we were so lucky to have the invaluable help of our brother in law Steven, who interrupted his holiday with us to fit two new Velux windows in our barn apartment roof.⁠⁠⁠
