Just one driver - Rick Parfitt Jnr - has won a British GT3 and GT4 title. But his 2017 co-champion Seb Morris could join that exclusive club next weekend. Team Parker Racing's Merc starts 7.5 points behind class leaders Mikey Porter and Jamie Day.

Best of British at Brands: the Red Devils Army Parachute Display Team are dropping in next Sunday! After completing their routine, the nine jumpers will land on the grid approximately 15mins before our title showdown gets underway.

As always, and for obvious safety reasons, their appearance is weather dependent. But we are hopeful the British Army’s display team will be with us after cloud cover scuppered their plans at Silverstone earlier this year.

Championship-winning co-drivers turned title rivals! Rob Collard or Sandy Mitchell will most likely become a two-time British GT3 champion at Brands Hatch - a feat only previously achieved by Andrew Howard and Jonny Adam. They clinched their first - also with Barwell Motorsport and Lamborghini - by winning the Silverstone 500 at the end of our covid-hit 2020 season.

Counting down to Brands Hatch, which last hosted our finale back in 2009! Things have changed somewhat since then: the entry included a prototype Ginetta, Mosler, Ford GT, KTM and Morgan, while David and Godfrey Jones won the title at the wheel of their Ascari. But two teams and one driver - Barwell, Beechdean and Andrew Howard (as well as Jakob Ebrey Photography) - are still with us 15 years later!

Pre-Quali was properly wet and remained so throughout its first 45 minutes until Abba’s accident brought the session to an early end. Optimum’s Tom Gamble was fastest of all at that point, while Nathan Harrison and Mahiki’s Lotus topped the GT4 times.

Funny old morning at Donington. A wet track dried sufficiently for slicks before the drizzle returned just as competitive times began to be set. Greystone GT’s Callum Macleod ended up fastest of all, while Xentek and Josh Steed made a dream start to their British GT debut by topping GT4.
