The Dordogne is very picturesque with lots of small market towns and historic sites scattered around the countryside. The property is found in the Perigord Vert region which is a greener and has a q
uieter pace of life compared to the South of the region which can get over crowded during the Summer Season. There are lots of small beautiful villages to explore and soak up the invigorating atmosphere during market days and Fetes. Less than 30 minutes form the heart of the Dordogne's capital Perigueux: referred to as "le Périgord", in France the area is most famous for its gourmet delights, notably paté de foie gras, walnuts and truffles, not forgetting all the delicious cheese/pastries and bread! Amongst some of the nearby is the beautiful town of Brantome and because of its special setting, is named Venice of Périgord it is the perfect place to wander around with its charming river banks, its Benedictine abbey, gardens, and its beautiful restaurant terraces along the water. Stunning, converted barn, with exposed beams, large rooms, that can accommodate up to 10 people in comfort, including a great, private heated outdoor pool (10x5m) - a perfect holiday spot for extended families. Internal there are 4 bedrooms set up as 1 king 2 doubles and the 4th is a large room with 2 double beds and a cot/cot bed 2 bathrooms (king on suite) Free to view TV and WIFI is available however this is slow so does not suit streaming but there is plenty of DVD’s, reading materials and board games available. Situated on 8 Acres of land in the French Countryside, you can enjoy Lazy pool days, or come see our chickens, collect fresh eggs, pick fresh vegetables (seasonal), play football/badminton or relax and read a book. There are two hives on the land but set well away from the property. The Barn is Chris and Cath's family home, and is used as a holiday let between family and friends visits between May and October.
