In our last post we wrote about wines from Gigondas in the Vaucluse region of Provence. If you are staying on the Côte d’Azur then there are also several vineyards. There are in fact 9 wine domains overlooking Nice & Cap d’Antibes. Those above Nice are the Bellet vineyards… their wines are unique and unusual. For a glamorous wine tasting experience there is Chateau Cremat, once a 1920’s Gatsby-esque party villa; or if you want something smaller & family run, there is Domaine de la Source. St Paul de Vence is one of the most beautiful medieval villages on the French Riviera with a fascinating history. Many famous artists have graced St Paul with their presence over the years; in fact St Paul is the burial place for the artist Chagall. It is an all year round destination which offers an array of unique cultural experiences… soon to be on our website!! Some of these pictures were taken at the Folon Chapel …. Absolutely beautiful!!!

Summer has been super busy for us since we opened our excursions agency in Villefranche sur Mer, so we haven’t been posting as much as we should …. The excursions/experiences/activities we offer take place all over the French Riviera and Provence. Today we organised for a group of 10 wonderful clients to drive from Villefranche to Eze in classic cars before enjoying a perfume making workshop. What a way to see this breathtaking coastline ☀️☀️☀️

Loving the new restaurant in Villefranche sur Mer; the food is fantastic, wine delicious, the ambiance simply perfect and I have never seen such a creative and inviting Cocktail menu!!! Papillon is the name (Butterfly) So great to eat freshly cooked food using local produce; even the lemonade is freshly made 😊

Marion Cotillard & Russell Crowes’ first kiss in the film A Good Year took place in the delightful village of Cucuron; located in the Luberon region of Provence. Cucuron is famous for its ‘bassin’ (pool of water) surrounded by 200 year old plane trees. The streets wind their way up to a castle; the medieval part of the village is located within the ramparts. One of the most popular requests we receive from visitors to the French Riviera is for private yacht rentals, a great way to see the magical coastline and swim/snorkel in the azure waters. The boat in the picture takes up to 10 people; if you split the price by 10 then a 4 hour trip will cost €135 per person (depending on the departure port). After almost a year of waiting we get the keys to our new agency on Tuesday in Villefranche sur Mer. Azur Xperiences will be the first Excursions Agency open to the public on the French Riviera!! We are so excited!

The Olympic torch !!!!

If you are down on the French Riviera this week you can witness an historic moment as the Olympic Torch makes its way from Villefranche sur Mer to Grasse, then heading to Cannes, Valberg, Antibes, up to the ski resort of Valdeblore-La Colmaine ….. and culminating in Nice where there will be many celebrations! 17 - 18 June!!
