Great weekend in Bologna eating/making far too much pasta, drinking red wine and of course a visit to the legendary Maranello. All with great friends on our 7th European trip.

🏃‍♂️Olympics visited!

We’ve done it! 4 stars 🌟 🌟🌟🌟. Today we achieved a 4 star rating for Le Manoir which translates as “very comfortable, high quality accommodation “.
Only 21% of classified gites in France are 4⭐️or above so we’re feeling pretty chuffed. .chalets

🧖‍♂️ 10 ladies have booked our “Taste of France” weekend for next March.

🇩🇰 After a weekend off our next guests arrive Monday from Denmark (our 12th nationality).
🍷💃Saturday night was our local fete night where €20 got you a 5 course meal and loads of wine!

Another busy week ahead. Last weekend we hosted 10 guests and organised amongst other things a wedding anniversary bbq party for 50 in the grounds of the house and this week we’re donning our bed and breakfast hats 🎩 and welcoming 2 sets of visitors who are coming to cheer on our local rugby team L'Isle en Dodon - Rugby in the semi finals.
We strive to do everything to perfection and I think the last two reviews received have proved that we must be something right! ✔️ 🏆

It’s been a busy few weeks - we welcomed our 3rd set of guests yesterday and are holding a party next week for our 30th wedding anniversary.
We only have 3 weeks left until mid October - 8/6, 29/6 and 31/8.
The main house renovation continues as we look to rent the house and gite as one big family Christmas special (more to follow).
We’ve also started our ‘A Taste of France weekends’, which offer our guests a variety of experiences depending on their tastes - rugby, wine tasting, spa days in the Pyrenees, cooking courses and so much more!

What a weekend! The first of our Taste of France weekends was a great success. A fun packed weekend for which included a wine tour and tasting, a spa experience in the stunning Pyrenees, a medieval village walk, Toulouse city tour and lots and lots of delicious food and wine at specially selected locally recommended restaurants. The weather was beautiful and the guests had a wonderful time. Thanks to , , .champetre for all your assistance. Each tour is specifically designed to suit the guests’ interests. A busy warm Easter weekend. It started off with a visit to our local bar in L’isle en Dodon 🍺, followed by wine tasting in St Andre 🍷, a trip to Stade Toulousain for TOP 14 🏟️and ended up with dinner tonight in Boulogne sur Gesse🥘. In between all that, we painted corridors, finished a bathroom and mowed and mowed and mowed…..
Last few dates left in June and July, book now for a great place in a great area with lots to do. ⛱️
Our little Easter surprise was 5 balls of fluff which hatched on Easter Saturday 🐥

Last week was the final home game of the season, so with a couple of friends and 600 locals we had a long French lunch!
This week as the temperature hit 23 we started on the gardens. Rach trimmed her bushes 😜 while I made a start on finally doing the drive and repointed the gite patio. We had 2 new ladies join us, Lavender and Snow Flake ready for eggs and coq-au-vine 🐥.
We are down to our last 2 weeks of July and 3 in June otherwise fully booked from May 3rd until October 4th.

It’s been a while since our last post, as we snuck in our own holiday🛫🏝️.
We are now in full prep mode for the summer season. Over the winter we installed (well a plumber did) a state of the art biofuel boiler, a new pool pump, and we’re halfway through renovating the gite shower room.
All the above means that we can now rent 365 days a year, use less chemicals in the pool and enjoy taking a shower in this room after a dip in the pool.
Good news for us is that bookings are up. We have a 3 weeker from 4th May, another 3 weeker in LMVV in August, a 5 weeker in September and 3 other weeks booked in between.

The first 3 weeks of 24 have flown by with another 2 bookings being the highlight 🏨 😀
Elsewhere Si started on the hallway, Kit Cat helped him at work and we are making the most of cold nights and winter sunsets at Aurignac Ale tap room, the winter sister of the beer garden.
Lots of friends have been skiing, but today we were in the garden at a very pleasant 16 degrees in the sun.
For those wanting a holiday with near Toulouse - Mairie et Métropole the Le Manoir is a must. PM us for rates and availability. A New Life In The Sun

We took this morning off and visited Castelnau-Magnoac’s Saturday market, home of rugby legend Antoine DuPont and a recent starting stage of The Tour. A great way to spend a couple of hours with a coffee and croissants! This followed a quick pint in the winter venue of Aurignac Ale last night.
As it is a quiet time for hosting,Si turned his hand to build 2 window seats in the salon (the lounge tbf!) and replace the window sills with some old oak off cuts. Not a bad effort!
3 sets of tickets booked for the rugby Top 14 Christmas clash with Toulon, winter sun break and Le Shuttle for a trip back to the UK - never
a quiet moment, however if you want peace & quiet and sunshine don’t forget to book for next summer 😜 ☀️ 🇫🇷
