2 YEAR WARRANTY AND FREE SEAMSEAL ON ALL NEW WADER SALES
I have been getting a lot of questions about our new wader sales. We give the new waders we sell a 2 year warrantry, and free end of first season seamseal and test. We used to seamseal them as we sold them, but found in the first year your walking gait and fishing style will crease, rub and wear the waders, so seamsealing immediately does not protect these areas., However seamsealing and testing them free at the end of the first season / year protects them and really extends their life. it just makes sense and once we have done this we give them a 2nd years guarantee at OUR expense! We also decided that if they are being returned to us at the end of the first year / season to be sealed then it makes sense to do a deal on any non warranty damage, rips, cuts, holes or whatever, so year 1 all repairs are just £10 plus postage.
PM me if you want to discuss new or used wader sales, additional details at

I was messing about with Repel on an old salt stained yacht spray hood. I am pleased with the results, as salt is really one of the enemys of a water repellent. It works way better on waders, jackets, outdoor kit in general, tents and so on, and it enhances breathability as it does it. Its still available on EBay, search repel by diver dave, or directly from our website at https://sites.google.com/site/wadersrepairs/repel
Well today was a busy day. We managed to seal and complete a lot of waders today. I got 2 very nice used breathable stocking foot waders in to sell, an xl and xxl vision (PM me for details) and bottled a new batch of Repel. its easiest to get it directly from us now, at https://sites.google.com/site/wadersrepairs/repel so all in a busy but satisflying day.
For many years we have tried to source a good water repellent, for restoring the breathability of waders and jackets, and aiding waterproofing, if the outside of waders stays wetted after use, they cannot breath, water vapour cannot be forced through water, simple physics. The problem was always

2023 A new tip is on site regarding taking care of your wader zips and a new process Chris has developed if all else fails. It can be read Here If you have forgotten what a salmon looks like, check out the video I've uploaded. Taken by Dave , somewhere on Upper Deeside--Here . Lots of
for a link to our most popular package size. We now do 1,2,4,8 and 20 bottle pack sizes.
It works well on fishing flies, it was not designed for this but appears to work on all but CDC - no idea why! It was never designed to fix holes, it will not turn a net into a bucket! The repel needs to be applied directly to the fabric and not to dirt.

I no longer usually put lists of stock used waders on line, but as i have just had a small delivery of nice breathable stocking foots i thought i would add a list of what i have in stock for now. BELOW ARE THE NEOPRENE BOOT FOOTS and BOOTS i have. All of these are used. I am not putting a list of the breathables up, i basically have almost one of each size and expect they will sell in a day or so. If you are looking for new or used breathable stocking foots PM me, with the size you wear or ideally with your sizes and i will match a wader to your requirements:
Todays wader longevity tip. During the colder months make sure your waders are washed and fully dried inside and out, and then keep them dark, cool and away from mice and frost, as both can quickly kill them. Freezing and thawing quickly makes waders porous, as the frost ice is sharp as it forms. I see its distinctive marks every spring, with the familiar story, they were perfect when i put them away and now they leak everywhere. Mouse damage is also common, they usually target the neoprene parts and though this will nearly always fix, its a slower repair and an unnecessary cost. I have had quite a few folks ask why i ask for their waders to be washed before thery are sent. In general all i want is the mud washed off them, but i thought i would share a picture of these, they arrived today. The black and white marks are mould and bacteria, its like this over the whole inside and out and smell as bad as they look. We wont be repairing these, in fact there is literally nothing we can do with themas we really dont want to touch them.

Wader zips are great when they work, but need some care, and its advisable to clean the teeth every month or so. Just an old toothbrush and some warm soapy water is all thats required to get any debris out. Debris can quickly kill them, as can having the zip half open, it twists the teeth upwards in a distinctive way, and breaks the zip. Sitting down with a half open zip is really bad for them, open them all the way and they are fine. The newest style zips are far better and give far less problems. The photo of the zip with nylon line zipped into the teeth has knackered it, the nylon quickly cuts into the sealing surface, making it leak very slightly, and this cannot be fixed.
Not all zips can be replaced and only 2 manufacturers supply parts like zips, the rest dont. If we can get a zip its a simple job to replace it, and over the years we have fitted similar but not quite the same zips to keep sound waders going, which i am not totally happy with. So after a bit of experimenting Chris came up with a new fix for waders with dead zips. Its a quick low cost solution to the problem and i think its very neat. We have done this in the past, but this is far better. We basically seal up the zip, so you have a good zipless pair of waders, perhaps as a spare. Most of my regulars will know my feelings on spare waders - if you have a spare rod, you should have spare waders, you can always borrow a rod, but if you are a special size for your waders then you are in trouble when they leak, and most waders are really very delicate!
Anyway, the two photos show 2 older but sound waders which both had dead zips, which are now watertight and cosmetically looking good.

So today we had a chap come in to the workshop, he had cancer and wondered if we could rush a repair to his waders as he was on holiday up here and had just been soaked. We tested them and they were totally porous, nasty chinese ones, so he asked if i could get him some waders. I usually get them in to order, as we cannot keep up with all the sizes, but i pulled some stings with my friends at Guide Fly Fishing and managed to get a pair dispatched before 10 this morning, so he would have them for tomorrows fishing. I already had an order in, so they rushed round and put the whole order together to help this chap put. He watched me order and pay them, and went on his way, promising to pay right away. You guessed it, he has just cancelled the order as he is managing to borrow an old pair from his son, the leakiest brand on the market - how we laughed. So, anyone looking for a heavily discounted vision koski with a zip, size large, with our unique 2 year guarantee and free end of season seamseal and test PM me, its your gain - he is banned for life!

Well that’s us to 50 waders delivered with no contact details, or arrived without legible contact details, and we have no idea who they are from or how to contact the owner, so if you have sent waders more than 7 days ago, and have not had the report email, then please contact me by email or PM asap. Some of the waders date back to last summer, and we cannot store them forever, so some of these will become patches soon.
From now, any waders arriving without legible name, address, EMAIL ADDRESS AND CONTACT NUMBER, ideally text number on a note with them, then we wont even test them. Time doing this then looking through email’s, texts, WhatsApp, Facebook messages and so on wastes time for customers who have provided me full details.
I know in many cases these folks will have contacted me some time ago on one of the methods above about their green / brown waders with black feet that have a couple of leaks, but without a legible note in with them matching this to an email from 7 days to 3 months ago is near impossible, and I now just don’t have time to do this.
Hopefully this will spur a couple of folks into contacting me, so we can at least move some of them on.

I got this quick video from a customer today, very pleased that Repel transformed his Ali express cheap non waterproof cap into a properly waterproof one. Impressive results, he made a good job of it. As always, Repel can be had on Ebay, search repel by diver dave, or it can be bought directly from our website a little cheaper - https://sites.google.com/site/wadersrepairs/repel
For the last few years I have been repairing anglers waders. For many years I was a diver, running my own business. A large part of the business was dry suit repair, as they are very expensive and only last about 5-10 years. However like most anglers I found myself replacing my waders every second season.
I decided to attempt to pressure test the wader’s using the same technique as I used for dry suits, and then to repair them to dive suit standards. I got a loan of all my friends waders, most of which had a leak or two and pressure tested them using compressed air. I found that they all leaked in the same places, and that the problem was always the manufacturing technique, they were simply not made to last, the seams, particularly in the crotch and feet being the common leak points. I then compared the seams of dive suits and waders and found that the taping was very poor, however this was an easy fix
We then started repairing wader in the business, however I decided to retire from diving a couple of years ago. I still did the odd repair for friends but now am getting waders from all over the country so have decided to start doing waders again, I have set up a workshop and am getting steady business.
What I do is pressure test them using compressed air, and do a bubble check on them. We have done considerable research on the various wader fabrics used and work to a set pressure on each, so to find all the leaks without damaging the wader material. The advantage of this is that we find weak points as well as leaks, so we repair problems before they occur. Leaks are marked and then the waders are washed and dried. We used to use a thick sealant, however it was too thick, it sat on top of the weave of the material and did not soak in properly. What we now do is thin the glue right down to a consistency of water, and paint this on. We generally use about 4 coats thinly painted on to breathables, and 6+ on neoprenes, as the weave is much thicker and more absorbent. In recent times we have further developed the technique, to use our sealant heated right up, so it is thinner to spray, but leaves a much stronger repair
All repairs are made in the inside, so your waders look ok when being worn. This actually makes sense, as this is where the tape is. We do a much wider seam than the manufacturers and it really lasts, it is stronger than the wader material. Once dry we re-pressure test, to ensure that they are 100% air tight, and re repair as necessary. Pin holes, tears and the like are repaired in the same way, and we can even reduce the size of neoprene socks and replace them if the sock is available. Dont worry if you have made repairs yourself, inside or out we will either remove them, work over them our round them. My own waders, had a complete seam re seal at the end of their first years, once the warranty ran out. They are now in their 4rth season and have no leaks. And dont worry about the waders breathability after our process, as we only treat seams and leaks the majority of the material is left untouched an so will breath just as much as it does before treatment!
I am happy to advise on wader repairs, or will quote for any repairs required on your waders. Prices range from £10 for a pressure test and puncture repairs to £45 for a breathable wader’s complete seam re seal and test plus postage and packaging. See price page for more details. I aim for same day puncture repair and a week or two for a complete re seam/re seal. Other jobs may take slightly longer.
