We were absolutely privileged to be able to hand out the first of our 20 Year loyalty gifts to our Chief Engineer Roberto Tonogbanua. Roberto started with us as a motorman all those years ago and has gradually worked his way up to the position he holds now. His continued hard work, perseverance and loyalty have paid off and have been appreciated over the years. It is thanks to people like you that Hays has kept going all the years and continues to thrive. We thank you for everything you have given us Roberto!

Yesterday we managed to celebrate a few milestones amongst the office staff (even if a couple of them were a bit overdue 😬). Congratulations to Nikki for reaching five years and Kathleen and Alan for fifteen years. Thank you for your continued service and loyalty.

We would all like to say a huge congratulations to our very first 'home grown' fully certified DPO, Jimmy Roble! Jimmy has worked his way through his DP training and has recently received his unlimited certificate. He will be taking his first watch as DPO in the next day or so.

For various reasons we have been unable to have our annual Hays BBQ party for around four years so we were delighted to have one last night! Lots of food, perhaps a few too many drinks and a large amount of laughter made for a brilliant night!

I apologise as I am slightly late posting these but we were lucky enough to be able to present some more loyalty gifts to our crew recently. I am delighted to thank Roberto Tonogbanua, Wojciech Radwan and Piotr Borkowski for over 15 years of service. Congratulations as well to Vladimir Androvic, Angelito Viloria and Carlo Escario for 10 years of service and finally to Ceazar James Lira and Ulysis Ibanez for 5 years of service.

Thank you to each and every one of you for your continued service and loyalty.

Tomorrow will be an incredibly sad day for us here at Hays as we say our final good bye to retired Super Gavin Gilchrist. The silence you left behind in the office when you retired was enormous and is even greater now. Everyday you made us laugh and I personally will always miss hearing you ask, 'Abs go and show me again how to do this doll?!' (computers never were your strong point).

Fair winds and following seas. Rest now, your watch is done.

Here at Hays Ships we are extremely lucky to have an incredibly loyal crew on board our ships. We were therefore delighted to be able to award one 5 year loyalty gift to Jimmy Roble and five 15 year loyalty gifts to Philip Allen, Danilo Sabucido, Camilo Gooc, Arnel Cuare and Elmer Poliquit.

Quite simply Hays would not be able to do what we do without you guys so thank you.

It has been a long time since we were able to have a Christmas party or celebration due to covid but this year we enjoyed a great weekend in Dublin, despite a rocky start to the trip! ✈️☔️🌨

We were very pleased to be able to hand out some more loyalty gifts to the crew recently. AB Bray Jimenea and Chief Engineer Czeslaw Ludkowski received their 5 year awards and Chief Officer Darko Dutina received his 10 year award. Well done to you all and thank you for your continued service.

We don't often have our ships so close to home so it is nice to have the Kommandor Orca in Aberdeen for a few days. It is especially nice to be able to visit the guys on board after so many covid restrictions in the last couple of years.

There was a little bit of excitement this weekend as the Kommandoren assisted the coastguard with their training exercises in Loch Ness.

Mixed feelings here at Hays today as we say goodbye to the Kommandor Susan from our fleet. We wish all who sail on her in the future a safe voyage!

However we are also very proud and grateful to be able to award Edison David with his ten year loyalty gift as well as Marx Bayoneta (apologies for it being a little overdue) and Vraine Domingo with their five year loyalty gifts.

We are extremely appreciative for the crew that we have and the loyalty they have given us over the years through good times and bad and we thank you for your continued hard work and service.

We were very privileged to get an outdoor audience with a wonderful group of Christmas Caroller’s. Hopefully have photos of the cute kiddies that serenaded us and made many, many peoples day that passed by on foot and by car. In the meantime here’s some of our staff very much enjoying the Christmas Concert!

The results of the Hays Ships 6th Annual Sunflower contest are in. 1st place goes to Abigail Suzara. This years sunflowers only grew to half the height as normal (not sure why) but Abigail's managed to get to 47" tall with two lovely heads of 7 - 8" large as well as 4 smaller heads blossoming.
2nd place went to Kathleen Davidson who had 2 very nice sunflower heads and a very close 3rd place went to Nikki Strachan.
Not at all our best crop of Sunflowers but we hope they brought some color and joy to the local residents.
