We’ve spent the last few days testing out local breakfasts - tough job, but someone has to do it.
Our clear winner was Highland Safaris. Open from 9am and well worth a visit for more than just the breakfasts! 🍴

The beginning of January is always my busiest time for taking bookings, I know the feeling - a new year and a time to make new plans. So, if there are any particular dates you are looking for, please get in touch.

If you are looking for July/August dates they are blocked off on the holiday sites (Airbnb etc), but I just haven't released them yet, so I may have availability for your dates.

Loch Tay is somewhat subdued today.

The Crannog, which is an iconic part of the landscape here, was sadly destroyed in a fire last night. I know many of the guests visiting Birchwood have enjoyed visiting the museum over the years, it provided a fun, vivid and educational insight into Iron Age Scotland. It will be a big loss to the local community, particularly as the area is just opening up again, both economically and as a tourist attraction.

After yesterday’s announcement it looks like we can invite you back to Birchwood after the 26th April. Fingers crossed that goes ahead. It’s been so difficult having to cancel people’s holidays when we all desperately need a break.

The upside of lockdown means that we have time to do some work on the lodge. Last time my youngest & I painted the kitchen units. This time we’ve been busy redoing the steps up to the lodge. Let’s hope that this is the last shutdown. ❤️

Unfortunately, after today's announcement, I am going to have to rearrange or cancel the bookings for March and April. I'm so sorry to disappoint so many people, I'm fully booked for both months.
