Here's a date for your diary: SATURDAY 9 MARCH. A brand new SPRING FOOD FAIR is coming to Abergavenny and we'd love to see you there! FREE ENTRY. Venue: St Mary's Priory and Tithe Barn NP7 5ND.

Buy local. Shop sustainably. Say hello to the best growers and producers in/around Monmouthshire (25 exhibitors). Shop for staple foods. Have a little taster. Sign up to a box scheme. Enjoy live music and talks. There will be children's activities too. Plus local groups sharing their work, creating a fairer, more sustainable and healthy food system in the county.

The full line-up will be shared shortly.

This event is a joint partnership between Abergavenny Food Festival and Monmouthshire County Council. Funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund Food Resilience Programme.

A beautiful winter morning in Abergavenny. Such a lovely shot from a couple of years back, showing first light hitting the hills of the Brecon Beacons whilst the town is still in darkness. We especially love the stark western slope of the Skirrid in the background, still in shadows.

Surrounded by its Seven Hills (who can name them all?), Abergavenny is seen as the gateway to the Bannau Brycheiniog / Brecon Beacons, with the Usk Valley continuing up to Brecon and beyond to the left of this photo.

Standing in front of Tintern Abbey can feel awe-inspiring, and especially this time of year when the golden colours of the wooded Wye Valley surround it. This weekend you can learn all about the Abbey as it was in its heyday with Brother Thomas.

And in a couple of months is a chance to see the Abbey as it would have been 500 years ago, lit by torches at the annual Torchlight Carol Service. You can find more information on our website.
