Did you know around 85% of students say that sharing stories around the fire is a must-do and here at The Bushcraft Company we agree whole heartly.

Sharing food around the fire is intrinsic to who we are as humans, in 2008, 12,000-year-old remains of a ‘campfire BBQ’ were found in a cave in the hills of Galilee!

So, on all of our woodland camps, mealtimes are shared in this setting, giving students time to come together, discuss their days and share thoughts and feelings with the group.

🌳 Green spaces contribute to a 40% reduction in stress and anxiety symptoms (University of Essex). Just a few hours outdoors can lead to a 25% drop in stress and anxiety.
🍃 A short 20-minute break in a natural setting can reduce cortisol, the stress hormone, significantly.
😴 Practices like “forest bathing” (shinrin-yoku) have shown remarkable effects, with participants feeling up to a 50% decrease in stress.

Did you know.... 📚 A survey by Learning Away found that 91% of primary school students were more physically active during outdoor residential trips. This increased activity helps combat the rising levels of physical inactivity among UK children.

We teach a variety of games and activities on camp that students can continue to enjoy at school or at home, encouraging physical activity in an easy and enjoyable way.

Spending time outdoors is associated with better physical health, and UK studies have shown that children who regularly engage in outdoor activities are twice as likely to meet daily recommended physical activity levels. 🍃 🏃🏽‍♂️
