Hi all, we're a family business based in Aboyne; bathroom and kitchen designers and installers, specialising in full fit luxury wetrooms.

We're known for making our own basins and counter tops from scratch in our workshop. Here are a few we've done over the last few years; made from locally sourced timber and stone.

The stone basins are granite river stones which we hollow out and polished by hand.

Barrel weave.
Something I've wanted to do for a long time is to use whisky barrel staves as a decorative wall cladding but, unlike examples I've seen before using cut down pieces, I've always wanted to use the full stave. The curvature makes it tricky to work with, but we have mounted it in a way to use the full depth in all its elegant oaky goodness 😍

The barrels were sourced locally from The Barrel Mannie in Strathdon and finished in our Aboyne workshop.

Something we've been working on for a while, a custom made cantilever staircase for a renovation project in Aboyne.

This was a labour of love and was a collaboration between ourselves and some of our most talented subcontractors. Weighing in at just under a ton, it is made from sheet steel and reclaimed tropical hardwood railway sleepers. The initial design was a collaboration with architect Craigie Levie, Craig at and ourselves with input from our fabulous and trusting client. The steel monolith was constructed off site by Strokweld in Glasgow then all the finishing done by Craig Monteith at . The sleepers were sourced from John McLeod and Son in Alford and spent weeks kiln drying at James Jones Sawmill in Dinnet. We used a mixture of tropical hardwoods including a few new ones and some old favourites: Azobe, Ironwood, Zebrano and Sapele. All were fun to work with they were very hard on our tools. All the woodwork was carried out in our workshop in Aboyne. The balustrade was build onsite and features whisky barrel staves to tie in with the barrel weave walls downstairs. These were sourced from The Barrel Mannie in Strathdon. We spent a lot of time giving the steel a patina finish then sealed it with several coats of hard wax.

It took 100 million years to make this petrified wood basin, that's a hell of a labour charge 🤣😋
This is fossilised timber hollowed out and polished to form one of a pair of "his and hers" basins in our latest wetroom project.
