Garmoran Square offers the best of both worlds - a rural getaway amid spectacular west coast scenery but with contemporary city-chic on the accommodation front. Designed to the highest standard of luxury and awarded 5 stars from Visit Scotland for Tioram and Somerled and 4 stars for MacRuairi and Shiel cottages. All have a traditional-looking croft exterior that is sympathetic to its surroundings

and gives lie to the luxurious, contemporary interiors. The properties sleep 2, 4, 6, and 6 people or up to 18 if taken as a whole – and every bedroom has an en suite bathroom or shower room. Situated in Mingarry, Moidart, close to Ardnamurchan, Garmoran Square is just 1 hour from Fort William and within easy reach of Mull, and Skye.

Lots of local crafts, candles, coffee, knitwear , sweetie, cards etc now available in the Cafe Tioram shop part of the tearoom.

Great to be able to get gifts locally again. Loving the modelled with their Teacozy’s on.

“Never trust a man, who when left alone in a room with a Tea Cozy, doesn’t try it on.” - Billy Connolly

Some wee helpers showing they could be trusted while we prepared the shop for opening up again and modelling some Ardnacrafts Tea Cozies with a pack of West Coast Kitchen sweets in hand. 🤩

Our gift shop is now good to go for the season and accessible from Cafe Tioram so you can have a nosy while you wait or take your cuppa through for a look! ☕️ 👀

As well as some lovely new Tea Cozies (Hats) and more from there’s lots of new stock, including Glenfinnan Candles, J Boult Designs, and a great stock of children’s’ and locally linked books. 🕯️ 🦌 📚

So very grateful once again to my pal and pusher, Sarah Emily Handmade for keeping me on task and helping with all that needs done in the background! 🥰

We’re here;
MONDAY TO SATURDAY: 10AM-4PM
SUNDAY: 11AM-4PM

In the final kitchen for the annual spring clean and inventory check.

We go through everything and replace anything damaged, like chopping boards frying pans, oven tray etc. Top up Tupperware etc.

This year we appear to lost a champagne bucket 🤔 and the lid of a thermos flask.

Have gained tin openers, knife sharpeners, some candle sticks!

Also just had to buy a new highland stoneware mug, as I dropped one 🤦‍♀️.

Beautiful weekend walk finally making it to Dun Ghallain on Loch Sunart. The Iron Age fort is on a rocky islet only accessible at low tide. Folklore has it that this is the setting for the romantic tale of “The Swan of Salen”

The Chieftain fell in love with a beautiful but low born maiden. His mother, opposing the match, caused the girl to be transformed by magic into a swan, which tragically the chief when out hunting killed. He was horror struck to see the swan at the moment of its death resume the form of his beloved. Overcome with grief, he fell on his sword, and the lovers are said to still lie together beneath the ruined walls of Dun Ghallain.

The is apparently the reason why to this day swans are never seen on Loch Sunart!
