I’ve just been offered a fantastic last minute opportunity to go and work on Handa Island for a few days, so I won’t be able to offer any safaris this week. Apologies to anyone who was wanting to book!

It’s officially the start of Autumn today, although the weather decided it was Autumn in August and it’s now Summer! And people still don’t believe in climate change…

Anyway, regardless of the weather, we have now moved onto our Autumn/Winter calendar. This just means that we offer all our usual safaris but we don’t set up specific dates and times, we just arrange our safaris at a date and time to suit you.

If you care about wild places please take a couple of minutes to object to the siting of a 22m telecoms mast at RSPB Abernethy! It doesn't take long and you could help save this amazing place from inappropriate development. Thank you!

❗️❗️ An application for a proposed telecoms mast and associated infrastructure at Ryvoan on RSPB Abernethy has been lodged with the Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA).
We feel strongly that this is not an appropriate location for such a development and have objected on various grounds - click the link to find out what these objections are.
If you feel that Ryvoan should not be developed in this way, please add your voice and help halt this proposal by objecting on the CNPA planning portal. Thank you.

🦦 Did you know that the elusive otter is one of Scotland's top waterway predators?
🦦 These remarkable creatures primarily feed on fish, particularly eels and salmonids, as well as water birds, amphibians, and crustaceans.
🦦 Otters make their homes in underground burrows known as 'holts', where they give birth to their young.
🦦 Otter cubs are excellent swimmers, venturing into the water by just 10 weeks of age.

Skilled and lithe in the water, otters are a true marvel of nature. Keep an eye out for these captivating animals next time you're exploring Scotland's rivers, lochs, and coastlines. With a little luck, you might just catch a glimpse of one in action.
