If you’re planning a trip to the this bank holiday weekend here’s a few practical and easy things you can do to help protect it.

🗑 Leave no trace and take your litter home
🐶 Keep your dog on a short lead to protect wildlife and farm animals
🚗 Park considerately and if possible, arrive by public transport
🥪 Bring a picnic not a BBQ.

There are a handful of villages in the Peak District that feel forgotten by the modern world - and all the better for it. They’re not ‘honeypot’ locations for occasional visitors and social media influencers, but genuine, working, thriving communities, where the lanes are covered in mud, you’re likely to have to stop for cows as you drive through, and the village pub isn’t ‘gastro’ but full of farmers and dogs. I hope they stay like that forever.
