It's Menstrie Gala day today. πGala Days are celebrated by towns and villages all over Scotland, and the traditions vary. Still, many involve crowning the Gala King & Queen, fancy dress, a parade through the main street, races, and large outdoor gatherings and parties. It has become an annual tradition, but this year, we decided to share Maxwell playing Highland Cathedral with his younger brother, Alexander, which they played together last night at our Hogmanay party. π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ ΏπΆ. Dollar Pipe Band Competition is taking place tomorrow, Saturday 20th May.
It's going to be a great event with 44 pipe bands from across the country, 57 performances and 8 Drum Major displays, all in the beautiful setting of Dollar Academy grounds.
The competition will start at 9.45am and will run through to a massed bands display to close the event at 5pm.
Entry is FREE and there will be lots of food and drink options available.
