Inspirit Walking

Inspirit Walking Guided walks in the Lake District I’m Jamie, owner of Inspirit Walking. Here is a little about me and what I do at Inspirit Walking!

I have always had a love for the outdoors and walking. In 2018 I moved to the Lake District to indulge this passion and it has only grown since. Guided walks are a great way to share my love and passion for the Lake District, walking, and the outdoors in general. I have always loved sharing knowledge, taking friends and family for walks, showing people these wonderful places, advising on routes wh

en speaking to visitors, and constantly learning more about the place I now call home. I run the business myself and will be your sole point of contact from initial enquiries and booking, right through to being your guide on the day, so I like to think it is a very personal experience. I know for many people having a great walking experience in the Lake District is not all that easy. I aim to make that experience incredibly accessible, enjoyable and bridge the gap that exists for a variety of reasons between the idea of doing it and making it a reality. Along with simply guiding the walk, I want to help inspire, educate and inflame. Each walk is different, but along the way there’ll be chats and opportunities to learn about all sorts – plants, animals, Lake District culture, geology, history, random facts and much more! The walks are relaxed, fun, informative and not overly strenuous. Currently my guided walks are focussed around some of the many stunning areas that don’t require hours walking up mountains. Yes I love the fells as much as the next person, but I also truly believe there are many areas of the Lake District that don’t get as much attention, especially in terms of guided walks to book on. Not everybody is either able to or wants to hike for 8 hours up steep slopes, and my walks are more accessible for a wider range of clients. Come with me and let me show you what the Lake District has to offer at a lower level – rivers, lakes, waterfalls, farms, fields, flowers, woods, pubs, caves, birds, trees, rocks and everything in between! I love sharing my passion about walking and the Lake District and am always happy to have a chat. So please get in touch if you have any questions, and I will try my best to help and advise, even if you don’t end up booking on one of my walks!

Ever wondered why the sky changes colour at sunrise and sunset?
Google it you lazy sod 🤣
OK, OK. It's to do with light scattering (bare with me, I'll keep this brief so it's not too science lessony). At sunrise and sunset the sun is lower in the sky and so passes through a thicker amount of atmosphere, this deflects away more blue light, and leaves those other colours that are oh so pretty 😍
If you like science lessony, it's called Rayleigh scattering 😉

My low level routes are still very accessible in Winter, as long as you’re wrapped up warm there’s some lovely views and quiet trails to be enjoyed ❄️👌

Some cracking weather to kick off the year! 🌤️❄️🙌
I’ve been a little quiet on here recently, had a bit of time off in December, but ready to get back out there now and walk off some Christmas indulgence 😅
Some exciting new things planned for this year, so watch this space! 😊
