Lovely walk along the Mickleden Valley today followed by the climb up to Rossett Pike. A little cooler today which was a bit of relief after the recent hot days and perfect for the climb. Lots of swirling mist at the top which comes and goes incredibly quickly.

Despite having been in Rydal Cave many times we have never been in the caves situated further down the path as the access to them has always prohibited entry until now. Some thoughtful soul has strategically placed some logs by the entrance which does indeed help but by no means makes it easy. These are the photos of the inside so that you don’t need to risk life and limb climbing in. Videos to follow

A long walk today taking in 4 wainwrights, namely Steel Fell, Calf Crag, Gibson Knott and Helm Crag. Some pictures of the Lion and the Lamb from close up which is seen from the road when you head to Keswick from Ambleside. We will sleep well tonight! Apologies for the number of photos.

We were so lucky to capture this Salmon attempting to jump up the weir at Chapel Stile today. Having seen one out of the corner of my eye I was determined to film it. This 2 second video is the result of standing still on the bank filming the same bit of water for what seemed like an eternity. Hope you like it.
