People often ask if they can drink from the streams in the Lake District. Whilst we don't really recommend it, carrying a bottle with a built in filter can be a good option. We only really use them high up in the fells in clear running streams with not too many sheep around.

Out of the wind and in the sunshine it was a perfect spring day for a Sport Climbing refresher in the Lake District. We looked at different anchors, use of assisted belay devices and tactics for leading routes safely.

A brief Scottish weekend trip to run an Association of Mountaineering Instructors WMCI trainee workshop. Lots of useful chat and honest conversations about the conditions. We did get up into the snowline on Saturday but were beaten by the wind on Ben Nevis.
