Regular visitors to Rookerycottages will recognise this as the approach lane. Cottage No. 1 now stands on the land to the right of this photo. There was a pig sty there within living memory, so perhaps that’s the low roof that can be seen in the photo. The building in the middle of the photo is still there today, but the wall in front of it has long gone. The man and boy in this photo add personality to this photo, which dates to around 1870. That wheelbarrow is huge.

Rookery Cottages Ambleside

The Rookery is a pair of self catering holiday cottages in Ambleside. The cottages are extremely popular because of their great location, comfort and cleanliness. Dogs are welcome, high speed wi-fi and modern fit out all combine to make this a perfect holiday Cottage, just a few yards from the centre of Ambleside. Imagine being able to enjoy peace, privacy, private parking and nice views whilst still being able to easily walk into the village centre in just a minute.

When we opened Rookery Cottages we were determined to create holiday homes that everyone would enjoy. Cleanliness, simplicity, comfort and convenience are very important when you go on holiday. So we focused on delivering these features and ensure they continue week in week out.

The cottages enjoy private access to the river bank which feels as if it is deep in the countryside, yet less than 100 yards from the centre of Ambleside.

The cottages are professionally cleaned between each guest and all beds are made up, towels provided and other consumables (loo roll, kitchen roll, washing machine tablets etc etc) are supplied.
