"Always impressed by the cleanliness and comfort and the fact the owner maintains it to a very high standard. We loved the refitted shower room, so much so we've decided to do the same in our own home. We've also occasionally stayed in other independent properties in and around Ambleside, Grasmere, Hutton in the Forest, etc but none can compare to Hillhead and because of this we have booked again for August."
We're very fortunate that the house is very busy across the summer with only a couple of short break gaps available. There is currently reasonable autumn availability.

A beautiful early spring evening earlier this week. This is the view from the path up to High Sweden Bridge; a regular stroll from the house.

Availability update. Hillhead is busy for the remainder of December, but we do have availability for short breaks or longer stays in January, February and March. We can't promise snow or moody skies, but we can offer a log burner to warm up after a crisp winter walk.

The kitchen replacement works are finished and Hillhead is once again ready to receive guests.

Delighted with progress on the replacement kitchen! Second fix electrics still pending (Electrican has covid) and the granite cupboard k***s are still being made. The house will be available again very soon.
