Hello. We have a lovely, eco-friendly two bedroom cottage with garden and wildflower meadow. Www.Lands-End-cottage.co.uk in the beautiful peaceful Rusland Valley just south of Hawkshead between Coniston and Windermere. Walks from the door including into Grizedale Forest and the surrounding fells. High Dam is just up the fell and Hawkshead, the Windermere ferry and Lakeside are just 15 mins drive away. Very dog friendly with their own welcome pack of treats, toy, beds and throws. Up to 3 dogs stay for free.

Having said that, this is a wonderfully quiet spot. Even over the Easter weekend, when the world and his wife appeared to have descended on the Lakes, we could just hear the gentle hum of insects, the chirp of a great tit and the bleat of the lambs. Nary a car in sight, just a few early swallows swooping over head. Very dog friendly with up to 3 dogs staying free.

Loads for families to do from chasing chickens to feeding otters to watching ospreys, watersports to boat and train rides, chocolate making to art exhibitions to blowing glass. Very dog friendly with up to 3 dogs staying free
