Write up of our day out on Rib and Slab yesterday:

Rock Climbing on Pillar - without doubt one of the finest mountain crags in the country with all that this implies. Here we climb the classic route of Rib and Slab

Well it's been another stunning day up on Scafell Pike :-)
There were climbers on Botterills Slab, I was feeling a bit envious, although it looked pretty chilly.
Top day out, happy clients who are all now safely in the pub

Scafell Pike from Wasdale on this glorious day :-)
We veered off the main path to head for Mickledore and once there continued with more mild scrambling to check out Pikes Crag before aiming for the summit.

I really shouldn't be surprised to hear some conversations up there, people actually using videos on TikTok for navigation!!!!

The crags of Scafell were looking as majestic as ever, although all was pretty chilly in the shade and probably not a day for rock climbing up there. Still, we can dream.

Well it's been quite a day for us today. I've been out on the Wrynose crags with Nikolai from the US of A ticking loads of the harder routes. And Sam from Lake District Mountaineering has been guiding Catherine and John on our behalf on the mega classic 'Golden Slipper' (HVS) on Pavey Ark :-)
A good day :-)

Mosedale - on our way to Pillar to get onto High Man. Alas the wind got a bit too blowy, with some wild gusts around Looking Stead, so we abandoned and stayed low level to stay safe.

Ha ha, I really should know better than to believe a weather forecaster. A decent and mostly dry day said the met office. They skipped the part about torrential rain!!! Oh well, it did mean the gorge was all rather exciting. In fact, it was phenomenal. So thanks to the rain for helping give us all another fantastic day out :-) Although if summer does now finally load, that'd be just fine too ;-)

Stickle Ghyll with the Butler family from Lancaster. Plan A had been Church Beck in Coniston, but another monumental downpour put a stop to that. Thankfully Stickle Ghyll was at a great level, with loads of water but not too much.

Black Crag with Adventure Yogi today. I'd actually set out on a plan B walk due to the huge amounts of recent rainfall, however a flood put a stop to that route so it was back to Black Crag which was actually quite dry (ish)! The sun joined us for much of the walk and views from the summit were pretty spectacular.
So nice to be out with lots of lovely people and so many smiling faces :-)

On Sunday I had the pleasure of guiding Jan and Helen to the summit of Pillar High Man. To say this was a big deal for Jan would be a huge understatement, and to see the immense joy in her eyes was pretty special.
We got lucky with the weather, enjoyed dry rock and almost no wind, we also had the place to ourselves.
Being a part of days like this really does make our work so worthwhile and rewarding :-)

And this afternoon we've been climbing with sisters Pippa and Sophie. Choosing Stickle Barn crag as it was empty and has a few harder climbs the girls wanted to try.
5 climbs for both then we spent time looking at how to place anchors and set up top ropes. This meant we stayed at the crag until early evening to ensure they got the learning in they came for as well as plenty of climbing :-)
Thanks to Jim Lake District Climbing for referring this family on to us, much appreciated

Wow, what a wild day it's been up in the mountains.
I've been with Jane and Erin, visiting from South Wales. The aim being to summit Great Gable. The weather had other plans for us and we decided to call it a day at around the 700m mark due to increasingly high and gusting winds.

Still, we did get to enjoy some wonderful mountain scenery and be humbled by the power of nature. A good day out :-)
