This summer I holidayed in Mauritius (lucky me.. I know it). I love a beach resort hotel, but I want more!.... somewhere to disconnect & re-connect, somewhere calm, away from the 'noise' of life's stuff.

Today is my 6 year anniversary at Travel Counsellors 🎂.

As with all of life, there's been highs & lows... the challenges of not having enough business in the early days, the frustration of working long hours on quotes that end up not booking (even worse, book elsewhere!), the personal anguish I feel when travel arrangements I've worked endlessly to perfect, don't go according to plan due to volcanos, ATC strikes etc etc..

Not to forget the horrendous experience of losing 100% of my income whilst having to work unpaid to resolve the very complicated situation with travel arrangements when Covid swung into town !!!

💃 All of those lows are hugely outweighed with the HIGHS... the dance of joy I feel when you say "Yes, I'd like to book that please", the excitement when you come back to me with "we had a great time, where can we go next", or a new client "my friend has recommended you & we'd like to go to 🌎"

🙏I really am so grateful to each of you who have entrusted me with your holiday dreams, have returned to book again, have taken the time to write reviews and been confident to recommended me to your circles of friends/family/colleagues...... without your continued support I wouldn't be able to live my dream job.

In November 2022 I was immensely privileged to cruise the Antarctic Peninsular on an expedition ship.... watching this video reminded me the wonderful time I had and the personal satisfaction of travelling Solo.

Today, I had the incredible opportunity to visit the Norwegian Cruise Line’s Prima, a ship that exudes luxury and modern design.

From the moment I stepped aboard, I was captivated by its sleek, contemporary interiors, a perfect blend of elegance and comfort. The spacious decks offered stunning panoramic views, while the cutting-edge amenities, from the infinity pools to the state-of-the-art entertainment venues, added to the overall grandeur.

The ship's thrilling features stood out, especially the exhilarating multi-level racing track and the towering water slide that provided a rush like no other.

Walking over the glass-floor walkways was both breathtaking and nerve-wracking, giving me a view straight down to the ocean beneath.

Exploring the various dining options was a highlight, each restaurant showcasing gourmet menus that catered to every palate. The Prima truly lives up to its name, offering a first-class cruise experience with both relaxation and adventure.

I have just whizzed through security with a Fast Pass… through in less than 3minsz. Great value for money.

Now settled into No1 Lounge….. I love an airport lounge, it is the perfect way to start your holiday and get away from the hustle and bustle of an airport. It’s such good value for money in comparison to what you can spend elsewhere while roaming the departures area…

For example, based on what I spent when I recently travelled. I didn’t book a lounge as wanted to have a recent comparison.
In Wetherspoons (more salubrious venues available!) at Gatwick, I had a glass of Prosecco £10, avocado egg muffin £9 and a large glass of white wine £12 , that’s £31 just for me for only 2 drinks and light food!

⭐️ An airport lounge would have pretty much already covered that! BUT would of included:

• Up to 3 hours use of the lounge in a relaxed comfortable area with WIFI, no searching for available chairs.

• Includes unlimited alcoholic drinks, teas, coffees and soft drinks. Prosecco is included but champagne is additional 🥂

• Food/Light bites/Snacks are included

• It 100% improves the pre holiday mood, starting off the holiday in the perfect way

• Lounges are child friendly and children love helping themselves to the food and having an area they can chill out in.

Airport lounge prices vary depending on airports and lounges.

✈️ Gatwick and Heathrow have several lounges in each terminal and start from £32 per person.

🏃‍♀️ Add on Premium Security to quickly skip past the queues in security from only £5 per person.
