Hot tub installation. This was particularly tricky due to the fact that it is mounted on a steep slope.First job was to...

Hot tub installation. This was particularly tricky due to the fact that it is mounted on a steep slope.
First job was to form a level foundation base. This was done by mixing a couple of tons of hardcore with cement.
4 support pads were created using concrete slabs. The timber frame was then constructed with strong 10”x2” timbers under the tub.
A stone wall was built and the hot tub base was created using porcelain tiles.
Creating a scaled plan really helped to ensure everything worked out and was to regulation.
Final job was to test it 😁.

Don’t you just love red tape. The barn is now called Owls Nook barn. Long story but see below.

The barn is over 200years old and was called Walkers Barn as it belonged to Walkers House. When we purchased the barn we had to alpply to have the address officially registered.
Having applied we were informed that it could not be called Walkers Barn as it was within the vicinity of walkers house. We checked the local area and re-applied for The Old Field Barn only to be told you are not allowed “The” .
We re-applied for Old Field Barn only to be told no as there is Old Smithy Barn within the vicinity 🤦‍♂️😡.
When purchased the barn was full of Owl💩 hence finally finding a name with meaning that passed the red tape.

Good morning from Cumbria. What is that we see in the sky ☀️.
Due to the relentless bad weather completion dates have come and gone. We have given up setting them.
The barn itself is complete but outside remains a mud bath. We have spent months waiting for a prolonged dry period. Let’s hope this is it and we are finally able to spread the top soil and lay the turf 🤞☀️☀️☀️ .
