A perfect getaway for a couple or small family and ideal base for a holiday or short break. We welcome a maximum of two dogs, purely down to the size of space within the cottage. Situated in the stunning Peak District National Park, The Casey has a beautiful enclosed garden, off road parking and traffic free walks from the doorstep. This enchanting, cosy cottage is a well equipped base on the Peak

District Boundary Walk and minutes from the Tissington Trail, Thor's Cave, Pooles Cavern, Thorpe Cloud and Dovedale Stepping Stones. Fenny Bentley Village is perfectly placed to explore local trails on foot or bike with footpaths accessible from the doorstep. You can even paddle a kayak on Carsington Water. If culture, heritage, shopping or cuisine is more your thing then the equally lovely towns of Ashbourne and Bakewell are readily accessible as it Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Ilam, Matlock and the Spa town of Buxton. Whenever you choose to stay, you will be spoilt for choice. Whether you are a walker, cyclist, outdoor enthusiast or a climber there is much to do in this fabulous scenic location and stunning countryside. There’s plenty of space for a run around and a lovely seating area where you can enjoy a glass or two of something and look to the distant hills as the sun goes down with a soundtrack of singing birds and church bells. If you prefer not to cook there’s two very good pubs a short stroll away or there’s a huge choice of eateries and inns in Ashbourne just a couple of miles down the road, or why not adventure and find a traditional little Inn in one of the nearby villages

The Casey has off road parking and a large secure Garage with Bike Racks and space to store your kayak, canoe or outdoor gear. Once you step in through the front door, hang up your coat and kick off your boots you will feel at home in the cosy sitting room with tiled flooring, contemporary furniture and a welcoming wood-burning stove. The open stairway divides the sitting room from the modern, well-equipped kitchen which has a useful breakfast bar. The two bedrooms are tastefully presented with exposed roof beams and consist of a double and a single. The designer bathroom has a P-shaped bath with a shower over to refresh or to soak those weary limbs at the end of the day. Rather quirkily, there’s a door on the first floor landing which leads out to the lovely South facing garden and stepping stones leading to the garage and parking area.

Once upon a time, in a quaint little village, stood a 300-year-old cottage, looking a bit tired with its weathered drab windows.🪟🏠

Fear not, for in swooped the dynamic duo, Rich and Elliott, armed with their trusty paint wands 🎨🖌️ready to work their makeover magic once more. With a flick here and a swish there, they transformed the windows, breathing new life into the exterior. Having this knack for turning the ordinary into extraordinary, they set out to banish the dreariness 🤣💖

Now, passers-by can't help but stop and wonder what secrets lay beyond those freshly painted windows. Perhaps a sprinkle of fairy dust was involved...the cottage was once again the belle of the village, thanks to a little paint and a lot of charm.💫🌟✨

Gliding open effortlessly, beckoning one and all to explore the wonders of inside 'The Casey's garage' 🤣

It's not just any door, you know !! 😏
.. it's a portal to adventure, a haven for bikes, canoes, and kayaks alike 🚴‍♂️ 🚴🚴‍♀️🛶 🛶
..Its a place to banish the mud, for there's a clothing rail for the most dashing of muddy coats and outdoor gear, a Mud Daddy to pamper the dog, and buckets aplenty for a proper cleaning spree 🪣🧥

With each penny saved and each upgrade earned, The Casey shines brighter week by week with plenty of curb appeal thanks today to The Garage Door Company who have installed a top quality, easy to use secure garage door.

Do we love the garage guys who made this happen? ...yes we do.....its a fantastic improvement 🥰😄

A Bank Holiday changeover for me. How has your weekend gone?

I arrived to bed linen stripped and folded and everywhere as spotless as I had left it and these lovely comments in the Guest Book ❤️

My guests have previously stayed at Peacehaven Holiday Home, Ynyslas, Borth, Wales my holiday home by the beach in Mid Wales and had never visited the Peaks and Dales previously. Needless to say they loved it! Have a little read at what they said 😊🥰

Hartington was the destination, fuelling ourselves with breakfast sandwiches and a frothy cappuccino from the quaint Beresford Tearooms prior to todays adventure.

We wandered a while around Hartington and the duck pond to see what changes had taken place since our last visit. We savoured the aroma coming from The Old Cheese Shop as we past by and made a note to call in to collect a selection of cheese on the way back.

Opting for a different walking route we wandered along Dig Street, past the Surgery and into Wallpit Lane carrying along the quiet track. The scenery along this route was breathtaking, we could hear the River Dove and made our way to an opening so Harley could paddle, refresh and take a well earned drink. The route took us to Pilsbury passing no one else along the way so it felt quite surreal and as if we had wandered into an oasis of tranquility and peace.

We decided refreshments were needed froma favourite haunt with majestic views, The Packhorse Inn, Crowdecote and would highly recommend a local lager called Moravka Classic from the Taddington brewery. After taking in the views, wandering around the packhorse bridge we headed back to the car and made our way to The Royal Oak, Hurdlow where we were made very welcome and shown the delicious menus. It was time to check my new guests had arrived at The Casey and head home.

What a fantastic day!!

Well youve heard the one about the 'relentless assault of peeling laminate. I needed a hero to bring the kitchen back to its former glory worthy of gracing the pages of a glossy magazine. Enter My hereos Rich and Elliott from CYK Spray who waved their magic paint wands and transformed every door, plinth and pelmet with a gleaming shine 🌟✨

Elliott was so enamored with the kitchen's transformation that he booked a break whilst he was there just so he could return to bask in its beauty once more! 🤣

Frequent Question: I would like to bring my dog, Is the garden enclosed and are you dog friendly? The garden is fully surrounded by holly and hawthorn hedgerows. In front of the hedgerows is 5ft galvanised steel, plastic coated mesh which has 2inch gaps. This is anchored to the ground and attached to embedded 7ft posts. After having a Spaniel who tried his last grand escape at the age of 17, it was important to get the fencing right and ensure that my guests would be comfortable letting their dogs out in the garden without worrying about gaps. 🏡 Inside the cottage there is a muddy paws hook with dog towel, poo bags and somewhere to hang leads, there's a feeding station with bowls in the kitchen and a few toys dotted around the cottage and garden. You'll even find a little personalised gift for your four legged companion and a Mud Daddy (dog wash) in the Garage 🐾 There are so many dogs out there who would give the garden 10/10 for zoomies and wagtastic times.
