The Noakes family have farmed at Somersal Herbert for over 100 years, the Farmhouse and brick barns were built in the 1860s and the 150acres of land attached is still farmed by the family. The fabulous setting of Somersal Farm in the rolling Derbyshire countryside gave the family the confidence to develop the buildings into large holiday cottages.The business began with the Farmhouse in 1999 and

then the barns were converted over the next few years with the final barn completed in 2005. The properties can sleep over 80 people in 31 bedrooms. As well as being let for weekly holidays and short breaks we also host several weddings each year and the cottages are becoming a popular corporate venue.

Our farmhouse bulit 162 years ago, dating back to the victorian era still has some of its original features.
These stunning house bells still remain in both lounges next to the fire places. These would of been used by the residents to call for servants when required. They most likely would of had different rings so they know which room to attend to. 🔔
