Another perfect weekend for taking coffee on the terrace.

Did you know you can preorder a breakfast hamper so that you have everything you need to kick start your day?

They include the makings of a full English with eggs from our own hens, bacon, sausages, black pudding and baked beans. A loaf of local sourdough with jam, marmalade, honey and marmite for toppings.

For those who prefer a cold breakfast, you’ll find a selection of cereals and some pastries. We also include orange juice, some milk and the essential red and brown sauces!

🌾Meet your hosts🌾

Westwell Downs is very much a team effort by the Curtis family, with the idea of a farm diversification project beginning around the farmhouse kitchen table during Covid Lockdown in 2020. Walking out the door and enjoying the 500 acre fourth generation family farm was something we all took for granted during these bizarre times, and we wanted to be able to share it with others.

Headed up by brothers Charlie and Joe, the months of planning and hardwork came to fruition when they welcomed their first guests in July 2021. Not your average luxury accommodation hosts, but 25 year old Joe combines his practical skills and passion for the family farm with 28 year old Charlie’s attention to detail and knowledge of the high end hospitality trade as a talented private chef, to offer a stay in the Cotswolds like no other.

The boys are ably assisted by mum Jo, who along with our super housekeepers Lindsey and Erika, ensure that change overs are slick, efficient and to a high standard.

They are on hand to ensure your stay is enjoyable and unforgettable from the booking process, to welcoming you at your hut on arrival through to saying good bye at check out.

It’s been the perfect weekend for lazing in the hot tub…

Each hut has its own wood fired hot tub where guests can enjoy the view over the paddock.

They take about 2-3 hours to reach the right temperature, as long as you maintain the fire, and use the paddle to stir the water for even heat distribution.

If you want the tub ready to use when you arrive on your first night, let us know and we can provide a concierge service for a small fee.

A question we often get asked… what are the bathroom facilities?

All three of our huts have an en-suite with a walk-in shower, flushing toilet and copper basin.

No making a dash for the composting toilet with a head torch in the rain here!

Did you know that Bibury was once described as the most beautiful village in England by William Morris?

And it certainly is a very charming place nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds, just a short 5 minute drive from our huts.

Arlington Row, built in 1380 as a monastic wool store and later converted into the weaver’s accommodation are some of the most photographed cottages in the country. If you want to see a scaled down version in model form, pop along to Cotswold Woollen Weaver in Filkins and find it in their entrance hall.

And it’s not just tourists cameras that have snapped pictures of Bibury. The quintessential Cotswold village has featured in several well known films including Stardust and Bridget Jones’s Diary.

Spotted on one of our tracks - the delicate and eye catching Bee Orchid.

This sneaky little flower mimics the female bee with its velvety petals. Isn’t it gorgeous?

The mild weather and warm rain has encouraged all the flora and fauna on the farm to flourish and our bees are loving it.

🦋’The Bibury’🦋

The meandering river and pretty water meadows of the village are reflected in ‘The Bibury’. Bibury is a charming and typical ‘chocolate box’ Cotswold village nestled seven miles to the east of Westwell Downs. It was once described by William Morris as the most beautiful village in England, and we tend to agree.

The row of weaver’s cottages with steeply pitched roofs known as Arlington Row, dating back to the 16th Century, overlooks the water meadow running along the River Colne. This very picturesque village clusters around a square near the saxon St Mary’s Church and has provided a backdrop for many blockbuster films including Stardust and Bridget Jones’.

The blues and greys are complimentary of the rich green tones of mother nature surrounding the hut with a touch of floral.
