Our staff member Gill recently stayed at The Zafiro Mallorca in C`an Picafort, Majorca....

Hi everyone, I would highly recommend this hotel if you have a young family and enjoy a resort atmosphere.

We had a one bedroom apartment which was interconnecting with my 2 teenage boy`s apartment.
We shared a sitting room area with this room, but we each had a kitchen, a bathroom and a private terrace and pool of our own!!!

The private pool made my 9 year old daughters holiday and was a lovely touch for everyone!!

We were in a great location too with our terrace/pool area looking out onto the main pool area, we were then able to enjoy the atmosphere but still have our privacy.

My daughter especially enjoyed the large pirate ship in the children`s pool where the entertainment team do pirate songs and dances every other afternoon.

There was a lovely bistro bar overlooking the main pool area which did lovely food including chicken kebab, fresh burgers, pasta etc this was a lovely alternative to the buffet dining room but was also included in our All Inclusive price.

The buffet dining room was also very nice. Something for everyone and always fresh, hot and cold food available as well as a salad bar, lots of desert choices, fresh fruit,cheese etc.

The evening entertainment was some of the best I have seen in an All Inclusive hotel. we saw acrobatics, magicians, singers, dancers and on the last night an amazing bubble illusion act!!

Drinks were plentiful, all named branded spirits as well as lager, cider, wines etc and an extensive cocktail list which I enjoyed working my way through :)

C`an Picafort itself is lovely, lots of sea front restaurant`s, gift shops, market stalls, tapas bars, and a big mention to Trotters Bar the English Only Fools & Horses Bar, lovely owners, good English food and big screens with football on, plus Karaoke every night if you fancy a bit of English culture during your hols too.

All in all we had a fab holiday and I would give it a big 10/10

🛳Julie from our Ashington shop has just returned back from a fantastic cruise with Fred Olsen on the Balmoral around Iceland and the Faroe Islands.

I had an amazing time seeing Reykjavik and visting the famous Blue Lagoon, stunning scenary of the fjords and waterfalls and lucky enough to see lots of amazing whales along our journey.

We sailed out from the Port of Tyne at North Shields, we were checked in and on the ship in less than 15 minutes.
Straight on board to have a look around the ship and have lunch, then a beautiful sailway out of the Tyne.

The Balmoral is the smallest ship in Fred Olsen fleet and is well-loved by long-standing guests.
The ship has wonderful facilities - six beautiful restaurants, seven bars and lounges, two pools and lovely wide open decks which are perfect for when Balmoral is scenic cruising.

We had afternoon tea experience in the Observatory which was gorgeous, we also ate in one of the two speciality resturants ( Colours and Taste) which has an Asian theme.

We enjoyed the relax atmosphere of the ship and joined in on the daily quizzes and had a couple of spa treatments too.

We booked all our excursions with Fred Olsen, including the Blue Lagoon, visited the magnificent Dynjandi Waterfalls, and an amazing boat trip out on the fjord for whale watching.

I have lucky enough to have been on all of the Fred Olsen ships not just the Balmoral, but the Bolette and also the Borealis.
