The field is still full of beautiful flowers, the second and third areas of flowers are just starting to bloom!

Carsington Sport & Leisure is beautiful and apart from being on the water, you can either walk or cycle around. Carsington and nearby Hognaston both have great village pubs for a spot of lunch too. 😊

We love well dressings and this one is especially poignant just now. Hartington is a lovely place to visit too.

What a beautifully poignant tribute to Her Majesty The Queen in the Peak District village of Hartington 👑🌸

As is the tradition in many local towns and villages, Hartington Well Dressings were intended to be a joyous celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee year. However, Thursday's news completely changed the emphasis of the message.

The Well Dressings - made entirely from natural materials such as seeds and petals - were revealed over the weekend and in many ways, the message has become even more appropriate as a heartfelt tribute to the Queen's lifetime of service.

Hartington Well Dressings will be on display until Saturday 17th September.

Beautiful! If you’re visiting Chatsworth or Peak Village from us, head across Beeley Moor and drop down into Rowsley to see the gorgeous heather. Be prepared for a couple of steep hairpin bends though!

Oh for a paddle on a hot day!

This is the beautiful Monsal Dale, with the calm waters of the crystal-clear River Wye rushing over the rocks and through the meadows, the whole scene watched over by those towering limestone heights. I loved that pinky sunset light but it’s always a pretty magical place.

The pretty village of Edensor is right on the Chatsworth estate so if you’re visiting the house, it’s definitely worth a wander. 💕

I'm not usually drawn to scenes of pure prettiness, personally I much prefer nature in its uncultivated state, but whenever I pass this beautiful cottage in the village of Edensor I can't help but admire its incredible garden, with flowers of every colour and texture and differing heights. It's the kind of garden I would have myself if I had a clue what I was doing, or if I had a willing gardener who was happy to be paid in tea and smiles.

Lovely day in the village for the Jubilee celebrations. Many aspects of our traditional May Day festivities were transferred to Saturday with the Mummers street play, Maypole dancing, Ripley Morris Men, Chesterfield Garland Dancers, the choir singing in church and a harmony group in the streets, not forgetting Ashover Band. For those who’ve visited us before, you might not recognise Duncan as Prince Paradise! 🤣

These beautiful steam engines paid a visit to the Black Swan pub in Ashover this weekend. They are locally owned and make an appearance from time to time in the nice weather. 😊 They’re called the Lion and the Tiger and for those in the know, they are Fowler BB1 ploughing engines. For the rest of us, they’re just an awesome sight and an amazing piece of history. Toot toot!
