of forest tracks leads out from the doorstep of The Dell, ideal for wildlife spotting, mountain biking and cross country ski-ing. A 30-minute drive will take you to the top of the Cairngorms, into the heart of Rothiemurchus or up into the wild moor lands en route to the Moray coast beaches. Nethy bridge village centre is a 20-minute walk from The Dell either by riverside walk, forest wander or scenic amble down the road taking in some of the beautiful architecture of old Nethy. The village, which has been a popular holiday favourite since the Victorian times remains unspoilt and is a quiet, friendly place. Our six charming stone cottages all have their own private aspect and sleep between two and seven guests. Four have been converted from the wings of the main house and have wood-burning stoves and a further two have been added in a garden bungalow. Dell Lodge sleeps up to nine guests and faces south with incredible views of the Cairngorms. All are set in safe secluded grounds and provide a peaceful escape and great base for exploring the wilds of the Cairngorm National Park

**Exciting Crowdfunder Project Launch!**

‘Music is at the heart of all that we do here at The Dell’
.. It’s our rhythm, our soundtrack and the way in which we connect with each other, our guests and our community.
Our plan is to continue to bring a regular culture of music and community to our unique Tipi space in the woods.
Until now, with our intimate venue, we haven’t been able to stack up the cost of hiring in equipment, hosting artists and paying their fees. Our hope is to grow and stretch our net to more high profile and international artists, alongside the incredible homegrown talent we are surrounded by, but we need your help and a little step up to make these events sustainable.

With creative arts support organisations, such as Creative Scotland, suffering from an ever growing lack of government support, it has become very challenging for small businesses, like The Dell, to access funds available to develop the creative arts scene across Scotland.
However, with your help, we believe we can raise the funds needed ourselves and keep the love of live music and the arts in the Tipi very much alive.

The total we are looking to raise will cover a PA system, a stage, suitable speakers and lighting set up as well as an upgrade in our electrical supply and appropriate storage. Any size of contribution you can offer will be so hugely appreciated and, as a thank you, we have a variety of rewards that you can claim with love from us to you.

Every little bit helps us turn up the volume and spread the joy—so if you love our Tipi vibes, the togetherness of a wonderful gig and can see value in supporting the growth of the music and arts scene in Scottish rural communities, then please chip in and be a part of the movement.

We are very excited to bring back Indie Fridays, where we can celebrate independent businesses and crafters on the run up to Christmas. The Dell Grocer will be open as usual on a Friday until the slightly later time of 7pm, with an array of gorgeous gifts and decorations. Why not pick yourself up a custom made hamper, grab a glass of mulled cider and some of our tasty samples and just soak up the festive feels. We also have gift vouchers available to purchase, another great idea for a Christmas present!

The Dell has long hosted groups with creativity and wellbeing at the heart. Following an increased demand, we have created capacity to host a limited number of leadership team retreats during the first few months of 2025, the ideal time to bring your team together, decompress and map out the year ahead.
We offer two nights in this nourishing environment that allows deep discussion and inspires future strategies.
We can offer catered and hosted accommodation for up 8 guests together with creative planning spaces, woodland walks, running trails and wild swimming on the doorstep.
We can also add in various wellness focussed activities to really maximise the time spent with us in the woods.

The Gather Inn has truly been our favourite night of the week. We have just a few more before we close with a giant fancy dress bang on the 1st of November.
We will bring it back in the Spring for sure and possibly pop it up through the winter as the weather allows but I just want to say a huge thank you to our beautiful community.
It’s given us great energy to watch you gather and make the warmth under that canvas, we appreciate it so much. X
Also huge thank you to for feeding us so well and also everyone’s favourite bartender!

With an extensive maze of gorgeous forest paths surrounding The Dell and out towards the Cairngorms and Loch Garten just a short cycling distance away, hiring a bike is the perfect way to explore the local area. We have teamed up with our good friend Kev of to offer bike hire from right here on the doorstep. We have four high quality, well maintained mountain bikes for hire (2 small, 1 medium and 1 large) with helmets and padlocks included, as well as a double kids trailer, which are available at £20 for a half day rental or £35 for a full day.

Little peaceful post school wandering with my freshly 10 year old.
These woods have been a great place to chew over the complicated feelings of growing up.. for me included!
They just create that little bit of space and distance with the day. Ever grateful to live here.

Looking for a doggy friendly getaway this Autumn?
We love dogs here at the Dell and can welcome them to all of our cottages. With endless trails through the woods and lots of runaround space on the lawn it’s a great place to let them run wild.

Those crisp Autumnal days have landed and we’re in LOVE with the landscape right now.
A great time to visit the with family with so much to do.
On site we have a new fleet of rental mountain bikes looked after by along with our to keep mealtimes easy and our weekly Gather Inn pub night on a Friday with the famous pizza truck.

Morning birdsong is back! Always something I remember so clearly when coming here to stay with my Grandparents. Sleeping up high in the eaves with the window open and the birds being the last thing I hear before falling asleep. Loving the gift to myself of the @merlin.bird.id app. Highly recommend for some proper bird love. We now have a fleet of four new mountain bikes on site hired and maintained by lovely Kev @garten_gears This hour return loop is right on the doorstep at the Dell and takes in stunning flowing woodland tracks and peaceful, safe back roads all the way to @rspb_lochgarten Start your day this way and be back in time for breakfast or spend a lazy summer day lochside with picnic and kids paddling in the water. Supper Clubs hold a special place in our hearts here at The Dell. We love the intimacy and joyfulness of each and every one and @rupert_shanks did an amazing job at capturing that last year with The Langan Band and Jemima Thewes & Lanes. Our Story

The Dell of Abernethy sits within three acres of mature grounds on the edge of the Abernethy forest, 1 mile from the centre of Nethy Bridge.
