The cottage itself is remarkable - very clever use of space, modern with all the necessary amenities yet still very cosy and a remote cabin vibe. We loved the access to nearby trails for walking and running - nice long walks to Aviemore to get supplies (great steaks and venison from the Rothiemurchus farm shop) and fresh fish and samphire from the wonderful local fishmonger Pro Fish. 'Our first stay in the Highlands and at Forest Cottage and it exceeded our expectations. Running, walking, bike rides, cosy nights by the fire, it was just what we needed. Tried a lot of restaurant recommendations including @oldbridgeinnaviemore Cheese and Tomatin Aviemore The Rowan Tree and Andersons.
