We’re a county of stunning coast and countryside but at our heart is the lovely city of Norwich. And it's a great place to visit at any time of the year.

So many lovely walks all around Cromer.

We often get lovely compliments about Aylsham from our guests. Often Black Boys Hotel and Biddy's Aylsham . Here's a nice recent review mentioning The Blind Pig and the lovely Bond’s Chip Shop, maybe they also picked up a few treats in the Antique shop! :

"Family Birthday Treat. Wonderful. On arrival we were met and everything we needed to know about the windmill and equipment was explained fully. The kitchen had everything and more that you would need for your stay. Everything was clean and tidy. Attention to detail perfect. Its a long way up to the top bedroom but well worth it.
We had a wonderful 5 days. Will be returning. Aylsham town is also a very nice place. Eating at The Blind Pig recommended. Takeaway from Bonds Fish shop recommended. The antique shop definitely worth a visit.
All round a lovely place to stay and visit Norfolk from."

On holiday near Aylsham? Want to find out about this history of this fascinating town? Why not book a bespoke guided walk for your family. Workhouse to Wherries, Railways to Repton - there's lots to discover! Visit http://aylshamheritage.com for details. 4 walks to choose from at a time to suit!

One of our visitors left us this lovely review as a recommendation!
My family had a really great time on the heritage tour of Aylsham focusing mainly on Hungate Street, the Market Place and Red Lion Street (with other points of interest pointed out along the way). Jayne gave an informed, relaxed and very entertaining history of Aylsham along with a collection of old photos to illustrate the talk and I learned so much, even though I grew up here. It’s also great value for money.

Our Story

North Norfolk - halfway between the City of Norwich and the coast at Cromer. 40 mins to Blakeney and Wells. Also close to the Norfolk Broads national park. Janet & Tim would love to welcome you to their Windmill, we live on site and will be here to show you in. The Windmill was built in 1826 and was a working flour mill for almost 100 years. Derelict for more than 80 years, it was converted in 1999/2000 by Tim and Janet Bower, into luxurious self catering accommodation for 6 people. On our web site there are pictures of the conversion works, which we did with Jeremy from Ashworth Renovations. Since then we have been providing holidays, and relaxing breaks for many happy guests! The accommodation is on 4 floors linked by normal domestic stairs. There are three bedrooms; one King, one double and one twin. Two en-suite bathrooms. Open plan lounge and kitchen area. Utility and cloakroom. Also plenty of parking and a private sunny patio (weather permitting)!
